Anything that lets us hear more Avery Brooks is a good call in my book. On top of that, it's incredibly rare to actually take the Captain's role in a Star Trek game of any quality.
Not only is this a really cool Star Trek game, but it's the last time Avery Brooks did anything for Star Trek as Captain Sisko. They brought every captain together for this game and it's really special.
This game is a childhood classic, it's got all the captains, fun story and gameplay, and great mods. I still have the CD. The space combat may be simpler than bridge commander, but the graphics are much better.
Another classic from the era when they made decent Star Trek games. Flying your own Connie around, enjoying stories from across the eras, what more could you ask for.

One of my first memories with a Star Trek game. I remember my brother and I spent hours playing multiplayer to recreate our favorite scenes from the shows and movies.
This is the closest I've ever come to my perfect Star Trek game. I played this on Xbox 360, and it is one of the very few games from that era not made backward compatible to the Xbox One (and forward). I wanted to replay this game so badly, but it doesn't run on any modern console or PC. The voice acting is fantastic (original cast), the graphics were great for the era, and the ships just feel so cool to fly around. Engage!

There is no other game quite like it that I can think of. A blend of action and strategy, wrapped in a story spanning the entire Classic Trek timeline. Hardcore simulation, strategy, space combat, and action fans could get annoyed by how simplified all those parts are, but the fact that the game could meld all of those genres together and be fun and compelling is a testament to the developers. They obviously loved Star Trek, and it shows. Especially in a modern world where Star Trek doesn't feel like Star Trek anymore, Star Trek: Legacy is a warm blanket of nostalgia that just happens to be a fun game. If there is any con that I can think of, it is that William Shatner really phones in his performance. Every time I hear his voice in the game, I just imagine him in a soundbooth with his head resting on one hand and sleepily talking into a microphone. It probably isn't that bad, but it is the only negative that sticks out to me.

This was the first game I got hyped for as a kid. Followed the announcement, joined the forums, started a Star Trek podcast with some friends, interviewed some developers and writers, and ultimately joined a mod team after it released. This game holds such a unique part of my childhood, and it would be a joy to see it shared with another generation.

I bought this game back in the day because I thought the ships were sexy. They are. It just happens to have fun gameplay, too. The fact that it happens to have a pretty good story is nice.

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
Metal Gear Solid HD CollectionFrom the critically acclaimed director, Hideo Kojima, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection offers a handful of the most popular Metal Gear Solid titles from the past in true HD for the first time ever. Featuring three complete games, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, the HD Collection offers old and new fans a chance to experience the epic game play, design and storytelling of the MGS franchise. The "Metal Gear Solid (MGS)" series is the seminal work of Hideo Kojima, Japan's master game creator, and the progenitor of the stealth action game genre. The series has become a global phenomenon, with over 27 million copies sold worldwide. The player controls a secret agent from an elite special forces unit who is sent on solo sneaking missions through enemy installations, vast jungles, and sometimes even the thick of battle. Alone and surrounded by the enemy, even a special forces agent will find it tough to come out alive. But that is the secret behind the series' popularity-the cerebral challenge of figuring out how to avoid combat, and the thrill of sneaking through enemy territory undetected. The MGS series is also known for its storyline, which blends seamlessly with the gameplay. The scenarios are based on extensive research and incorporate the drama of actual developments in society. These elements have made MGS what it is today: a mature work of entertainment that transcends national borders and the confines of video games, and one of the leading products of the Japanese content business.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake EaterMetal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is the follow up to Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. It is the first prequel in the series, taking the series to the year 1964. The player takes the role as the series' original antagonist, Big Boss, then known as Naked Snake. MGS3 is the first game in the series to take place in a jungle. This unique setting created an opportunity for new mechanics. The player can adapt to the environment by swapping Snake's camouflage, hunt animals and gather plants for food. This iteration in the series introduced a new feature in which the player must apply medicine and perform medical procedures on Snake if he is damaged in combat. Apart from the survival themed features, the controls and gameplay of the game are very similar to Metal Gear Solid 2. Like other Metal Gear games, the focus is on stealth, but the player can go through the entire game like a shooter if they choose to. Throughout the game Snake acquires weapons of all types; non-lethal firearms, handguns, sniper rifles, machine guns, shotguns, sub-machine guns, and explosives. Metal Gear Solid 3 was the first game to implement the CQC (close quarters combat) system. CQC allowed Snake to beat enemies down to knock them out, or put them in a chokehold to knock them out, kill them, or and/or question them. Metal Gear Solid 3's health system required the player to occasionally pause the game and treat Snake's ailments. When Snake is shot, there is a chance that the bullet didn't pass through him, requiring the player to use a knife to remove the bullet, apply disinfectant, apply styptic and bandage the wound. This was done through a submenu in the pause screen. Other ailments the player must treat Snake for include: leeches, broken bones, burns, cut, arrow/bolts/needles, stomach sickness, colds, and food/venom poisoning. Adding to the survival elements of the game, Snake Eater lives up to its name by requiring the player to scavenge food for Snake. Under the life bar there is stamina bar. If Snake does not eat any food the bar depletes, causing various effects. When the stamina bar is low, the player's ability to aim is severely handicapped, Snake's hands will shake in the first person aiming mode. Just like real life, Snake's stomach can also rumble, enemy soldiers can hear this, and will be alerted to Snake's presence.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the PatriotsMetal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is the final canonical Metal Gear game to feature Solid Snake as the main character. The gameplay of the previous games have been kept along with some new features, such as the ability to roll on your back and also to hide in bins scattered around the environment. Most of the story and the relationship between the characters are explained through cut-scenes with a considerable length, so knowledge of the prior games is recommended to fully understand the story. The game also features a complex multiplayer mode entitled Metal Gear Online with some original missions based on the stealth aspects of the single-player games.
