Themes:Action, Science fiction
Game modes:Single player
Story:Syndicate is a strategic action game set in a dystopian future where corporate entities vie for global dominance. Players control a syndicate, expanding their influence across a world map divided into territories. Starting from a European base, players deploy agents to infiltrate and conquer adjacent regions through covert operations and violence. Once a territory is captured, players can impose taxes to increase revenue, but must balance this with the risk of inciting rebellions. The game involves managing resources, dispatching agents to eliminate threats both foreign and domestic, and defending against rival syndicates' incursions. Success requires careful strategic planning, efficient resource management, and the ability to outmaneuver opponents on a global scale. The ultimate goal is to achieve world domination by controlling all territories and overcoming all challenges.Show more

An old Bullfrog game back when EA first acquired them, Syndicate was a Cyberpunk dystopian game where a group of corporate agents fought with other corporations and gained new cyberware and skills. You could take people over who lived in VR all the time and walk around with masses of human shields, wield miniguns, and generally wreck havoc. There was a lot of research and movement on the overworld, a little bit like some modern Xcom games, but with the fighting in real time. It was a fond memory with an appropriately dark and cynical tone that feels more appropriate than ever nowadays.

This was one of my first exposures to the Cyberpunk genre, and it had elements of other favorite games like Civilization and StarCraft. I was never very good at Syndicate but I remember it being a really cool game.

Klimat, klimat i jeszcze raz klimat... i miodność :).

A world dominated by unscrupulous corporations. You and your security team (consisting of cyborg-agents) are responsible for one of these corporations. With teams of up to 4 agents you enter urban and industrial areas belonging to different corporations, your aims: infiltration, extraction, sabotage or simply extermishing the opposition. The detailed mission maps are pure eye candy. A game thats higly challenging and entertaining.
Ye olde bullfrog, oh how I miss thee... With a mix of easy gameplay as well as murderous difficulty (that island thingy in the middle of the ocean, OMG!), it deserves a return. Since the newest entry of the franchise ended up being a bleh dubstep FPS, then at the least they can bring this one back.

Civilization II: Multiplayer Gold Edition
Civilization II: Multiplayer Gold EditionCivilization II: Multiplayer Gold Edition was bundled both prior expansion packs and added options for networked and hotseat play, and features tweaked AI. All of the music tracks that were in the original release of Civilization II had been removed, however - only some of the "new" ones remained. The tweaked AI is also perpetually unfriendly, rendering most diplomatic functions useless. The Multiplayer Gold Edition was included in the Civilization Chronicles box set released in 2006.

Metal Gear Acid
Metal Gear AcidMetal Gear Acid is a turn-based collectable card game. It was the first game in the Metal Gear series for the PSP. A Java ME version for mobile phones was released by Glu Mobile in 2008 titled Metal Gear Acid Mobile. Acid focuses on turn-based tactics, using a trading card-based system to control the main character's movements and actions. Acid in the name stands for "Active Command Intelligence Duel". The cards are not truly collectable, as the game is complete with a single purchase. However, the game does feature deck design and deck optimization elements. The game allows for multiplayer gameplay by wireless ad-hoc connections of two PSPs. Before each round, the player can customize the deck of cards used by the main characters. Most cards are based on elements spanning the entire Metal Gear series, such as weaponry, characters, and even the Metal Gear itself. When the game is started, the player's hand can consist of a maximum of six cards. The maximum number of cards in a deck increases with overall progress. In action mode, the player can choose to use the cards as intended or use them to move the character. Most cards only allow the player to move three spaces, while certain cards let the player move up to six or higher. Cost is an important factor in gameplay and can be summed up as the weight of the player's action. With some exceptions, all cards have a cost attached to them and when used this cost transfers to the player. Cost varies radically from card to card. The higher the cost a character has, the longer that character must wait until their next turn. For example: if a player character has a cost of 15 and a guard has a cost of 10, then the guard's turn would occur before the character's. Some cards can be equipped; cards such as weapon cards, can have other cards attached to them in order to improve performance. In order to fire the weapon, another weapon card that uses the same kind of ammunition must be equipped. Some weapons don't need to be equipped and can be used by themselves, however, they are discarded afterwards. Other cards that can be equipped include equipment cards and action cards. Multiplayer, or "Link Battle", is also a new feature. Two PSP systems running Acid can link wirelessly, allowing players to face each other in a "sneak-off". The objective is to collect several diskettes before the rival player. Diskettes can be stolen by another player, so there is an emphasis on avoiding detection.

Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment
Vandal Hearts: Flames of JudgmentA new entry in the Vandal Hearts series, Flames of Judgement follows the story of young orphan Tobias Martin as he bands together with his schoolmates to help defend his homeland against a rival kingdom. The story acts as a prequel to the original Vandal Hearts. The series' trademark isometric combat returns, now presented in 3-D with 3-D character models. Players attempt to position themselves tactically to gain an advantage over stronger (or more numerous) foes. Combat takes place in turns, with each side moving one character per turn. Each party member can carry two weapons and switch between them without using up a "turn," allowing them to shift quickly from a sword to a long-range bow, for example. Characters gain levels through successful battles, and increase skills with a particular weapon or spell by using that weapon or spell in combat. Many engagements expand beyond simple combat by introducing some sort of puzzle element, ranging from pushing boulders to protecting characters from attackers. Missions may also radically update their goals as progress is made. In addition to the standard game, there are also multiple endings and multiple "secret maps" unlocked across the regular levels.
