When i found this game in PS2 was mindblowing, I played kof 2003 but i didn't like but XI improved every aspect of the mechanics that 2003 present back in the day, I still play it sometimes in fightcade. One of my favorite KoF and its deserve a port to modern consoles whit rollback
Where we have the King of Fighters 98 Ultimate Match, and King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match, The King of Fighters XI is the third piece of the trifecta of the greatest old school King of Fighters games. You get a great roster, a lot of unlockable characters, tag battles, and cameos that actually tie into SNK history.
I really loved playing this game. It's different, but fun on its own. It's the only 2D SNK fighting game that I actually took the time to clear the challenge mode for. It was not easy.
But it was the one that I loved so much, that I would actually 100% it. It doesn't get the attention it deserves, it's as good as the other dream matche games in the King of Fighters series. I happily bought first two games listed here because this was the best way to get them. I would love to add King of Fighters XI to this, so I can have my Trifecta of perfect old school King of Fighters games. King of Fighters XIII is in its own space of greatness, because it's definitely a newer experience.
This is one of my favorite entries in the KoF series, it definitley deserves to be on PC.
Preserve this game, so it can bring fun and joy to people in the future.
This is my favorite fighting game of all time.
KOF XV was the first time I tried to learn a FG and after that I went back on many of the games in the series, and this one was the one that caught my interest and I instantly fell in love with it
Its soundtrack, Roster and great feeling gameplay capture me, this game is also very fun to watch because of its very high pace combat, yet with a good amount of depth even if it may seem a bit more simple on plain sight
The ps2 port is also a great one, it comes with many challenges, color edit, arrange soundtrack and ability to play the game the traditional way as well as changing the balance
Unfortunately this game has not received a rerelease in modern systems and therefore it is very hard to get around and play it for the average consumer , getting a PC port with rollback of the ps2 version would be a very ideal and I think this game may finally receive its due recognition
