jsidhu762: What is your party composition? Is your most heavily armoured character taking point? Are you using the wand of magic missile to interrupt casting? Have you tried preemptively casting sleep, fear, or charm? Are your ranged characters sniping casters?
Playing BG1 with the widescreen mod nothing else. My party consists of Iomen, Jahera, Khalid and Viconia DeVir. I am myself a fighter so i also go in the front? Nope what is the interrupt casting? How do i cast sleep, fear or charm? None in my party has those abilities beside sleep which I belive Viconia can use?
amazingchestahead: Neira in Nashkel Inn? She's actually pretty tough for an early game party, especially if you're new to the game and don't have a very good idea what to do. An early game party won't be able to hit her very often, and she can spam Hold Person a couple times, which is almost guaranteed to succeed because your party have horrible saves at this point.
Hopefully you have the Wand of Missiles. Use it on her when she's casting to interrupt her casting. Low level spells that could help you at this point would be Magic Missile, Chromatic Orb, Blind, Charm Person, Sleep. Sleep is extremely overpowered in vanilla BG1. Chromatic Orb and Magic Missile are very weak at low levels but they can interrupt her spellcasting.
Other than that, give your tankiest character (probably Khalid?) a Chain Mail or Splint Mail and a shield, have him tank her, give him several healing potions, then just hope for lucky crits. You may even grab Minsc and Edwin before fighting her. They are both powerful characters.
Yea but in the the dwarf assassin was hard, i had to try at least a couple of dozen of times to manage to kill him. That hold and web spells Neira assasin in Nashkell uses on my party is very irritating but despite that even when my party which consists of two fighters me and Khalid we almost never manage to hit her. Horrible saves what is that? Sleep is that the offensive spell Viconia can use? Never met Minsc and Edwin yet. I did met a Bard singer in Beregost, forgot his name though.
Lebesgue: First of all, you do not need to enter that inn and you can skip that fight.
Second of all, it seems that you are not using your items and party members optimally. Neira is one of the easier assassins. But without knowing more details about your part composition it is difficult to make any recommendations.
I am a complete newbie to Baldurs gate also not using the EE-versions but the widescreen mod which makes everything a bit hard to see.
