When I save in BG1, the game screen becomes a small window and goes completely white. What's wrong? I'm on a 2014 Macbook Pro.

I'm going to take an educated guess here, and suggest that you uninstall and reinstall to a folder without an apostrophe:

C:\GOG Games\Baldurs Gate\
Thanks for your reply.

I just uninstalled and am trying to re-install into a directory without an apostrophe, but that apostrophe is already put there but GoG and it seems I can't go in and remove it.

After uninstalling, I double-clicked on the original downloaded .dmg file and that opens up the window where I can drag and drop the Baldurs Gate app into the Application folder. I double clicked on the app, clicked Show Package Contents, and went into the GOG Games folder to find the folder with the apostrophe. When I right click on the folder, it says that I only have permission to read, not write. As the administrator of this computer I think I should have permission to write, but it's not letting me change it (usually I can just go to the bottom of the Get Info window of any file and change it there, but the options are greyed out).

*edit*

I found that if I re-install and then access the folder via Applications (instead of trying to do it from the .dmg before installing) I could edit the folder with the apostrophe. So I removed the apostrophe and entered Wineskin to remove the apostrophe from the Windows Exe line as well, but now this error message shows up when I try to run the game:

"An Assertion failed in D:\Dev\chitin\ChDimm.cpp at line number 581
Programmer says: Unable to Open BIF:data\SFXSound.bif"

At least before the game could open =( Any more ideas?

Yeah, I'm not Mac savvy, so unfortunately I can't help you with the permissions thing, or being unable to choose a custom install folder. Sorry.
That's okay, thanks anyway.

For anyone else who might be interested, it looks like for some reason the Save folder in the game directory changes from a folder to a blank white icon thing after I try to save the game. I can go in and delete that file, then make a new folder called Save, but once I try to save a game again the same thing happens: it crashes and the Save folder becomes a blank white icon thing.
