Hi,

I want to play through Vanilla BG1 on my mac laptop. The only issue is, I can't figure out how to keyboard scroll to scroll the in-game view: the arrows do nothing. In the manual, it claims that I can scroll with the numpad or use Config.exe to rebind keys. Well, since I'm on a mac laptop, I have no numpad and I can't run Config.exe so I'm in somewhat of a pickle.

I know BG1 ships with some version of WINE that runs it for my. My question is, how do I invoke that specific version of WINE to run Config.exe and bind keyboard scrolling to my arrow keys?

Thanks!

Ugh OK, I figured out part of this: tl;dr: Config.exe doesn't work to rebind keyboard scroll and my problem still isn't solved.

If you use the terminal to cd into:

/Applications/Baldur's Gate The Original Saga.app/Contents/Resources/game/Baldurs Gate 1.app

You can then run:

open Wineskin.app/

Which will pop open the Wineskin wrapper for WINE used by the BG1 install. Then, if you click "Command Line Shell," you'll be dropped into a WINE-powered DOS prompt that will allow you to run Config.exe and bind keys for BG1! Success! BUT WAIT NO.

Unfortunately the keyboard scroll keys are not able to be rebound in the Config.exe interface! You can only rebind stuff like, what hotkeys to use for priest and wizard spells, and what hotkeys bring up the inventory menu etc. So apparently using the numpad for keyboard scroll is somehow hardwired into BG1.

So I need some other way to rebind say my arrow keys or WASD to keyboard scrolling but only when BG1 is launched. Is there any way to do this with Wineskin, or some other keyboard rebinding app... I've been poking around but can't find anything.

I'll post if I figure it out.
