It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Screenshots taken from the internet because I'm a computer illiterate who can't be bothered to take one from in-game. Not like it matters.

Anyway, you know this bar over at the bottom of the screen?

See this four-point star-shaped button?

My game behaves as if I was clicking and un-clicking this little bastard all the damn time. Meaning the whole bar rotates between standard and my abilities. Meaning I can't do anything, can't choose any spell or ability since it just rotates between the two all the time. It's pretty hard on the eyes too.

How do I stop the UI from trying to give me an epileptic seizure and allow me to actually play the game?

What I tried: disabling all hotkeys by editing the file (didn't work), installing mods from the sticky (it did nothing), installing an UI mod (crashed the game on main menu), praying to the Omnissiah (crashed the PC).

So... can it be fixed?

That is the Special Abilities button. The default keyboard shortcut for it is F12, so it sounds from your description like something else is intercepting the F12 keypress. First, reboot your computer, and if that doesn't help clean and check your keyboard, and also close everything down that could be causing the keyboard to be intercepted, at least while you are playing.

Nope. Rebooted, cleaned the keyboard, closed every non-critical process and even tried with the keyboard unplugged. It still doesn't work properly.

Then uninstall/reinstall seems to be your only option: something in your installation is causing this if nothing in your OS is.

How many times do I need to do that for it to work, since I've already reinstalled once?

Until you have an installation that doesn't cause this issue. How about posting your WeiDU log here?
1. F12 is fixed and can’t be unlocked by the game.
2. F12 is the [Scr LK] key on some keyboard set ups... so have you got a program running that uses scroll lock?
3. Is the keyboard a wireless one... if so then does using a normal key board fix the issue?
4. What windows system have you got and is the game installed outside the programs folder?

I'd try installing the game (outside programs folder) from Windows safe mode next time as this should remove any other software like Crome or Avast antivirus from getting in the way.
I'll share standard info, assuming you have Windows (since you didn't say)

Make sure anti-malware isn't running during install
Don't install to Program Files
Turn UAC off
Enable compatibility mode, disable 3 display features, run as admin
Was having the same problem though it's happening to any unequipped weapon slots of mine.
Thought it was a mod problem so did a reinstall. (Twice in fact, I tried once with fixpack only)

Ended up with the problem happening in a vanilla install straight out from the new game cut scene.
Then it suddenly fixed itself, or maybe something I pressed suddenly worked.
I kinda think it might the party ai.
Cause I remember disabling it for awhile before switching it back on.
Or it might be me pressing the keys that were going crazy...

I just hope it doesn't happen again.

By the way: I only enabled Win XP compatibility mode and Run as admin.
