It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I reinstalled BG1 today (download via Gog-Downloader with extras, install via setup...) and when I try to start the game it results in 1-2 seconds of blackscreen and sound and a crash back to the desktop. The BG1 icon is on the taskbar, tries to reopen it just repeat the above and mess with my graphikoptions (browser suddenly in windowed mode and so on...)

System is:

Win7 Home Premium 32bit
Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
4GB RAM
ATI Raedeon HD 4800 Series

lastest graphik drivers installed

Can someone help me, please?

PS: Sorry for typos and grammar. English is not my native language. ^^
Have you installed under program files? Because it is well known to cause problems and might be the cause of yur issue. If not, try executing as admin.
My rig is similar (x64 though, but also an Intel/ATI setting) and installing outside of Program Files and executing as admin, my GOG copy works flawlessly.
Thank you for trying. :)

It's under C:\GOG Games\Baldur's Gate\ and I'm starting as Admin by default. I also tried different compatibility modes. :(

What are the 'extras' that you mention? Are they mods? If so, please copy/paste the contents your weidu.log here. You will find it in the install folder.
It's just the bonus content from Gog. Manual, Avatars, Sountrack...

Edit: The Taskmanager shows "Tales of the Sword Coast", so maybe it's the included Addon?
Last year the game worked without problems on this PC. It's really odd.

Ok, then make sure you have nothing running in the background when you start the game. Disable your antivirus, and any other applications, messengers, browsers, etc. If it's a clean install, outside of Program Files, you need to find out what's causing it to flop back to the desktop, and background processes are top of the suspect list.

Edit: When you say you reinstalled it, does that mean that you have previous override folder and saved games?

Nope, I wiped the game completely since I had problems with corrupted savefiles from other games before.

And I followed your advise. Seems like BG and the GoG Downloader don't like each other. Go figure. *g*

Oh well, at least it was painless. :)

No problem. Have fun.

*Corrected Imoen's spelling for you* ;-)
Just for people with the same problem I have to correct myself:

The Gog-Downloader wasn't at fault.

If you're running the newest Adobe Flashplayer (especially with MS Silverlight in the background) before starting BG1 it can happen that you'll experience crashes. Starting BG1 first and then running Flash fixes the problem!
