Hi,
we've started a multiplayer campaign with a friend of mine recently. I own BGEE1 on Steam and he owns it on GOG. We would like to continue with BGEE2 after we're done so we bought it on sale this weekend here on GOG and I bought BGEE1 for myself again as well.
The problem is, we have no issues playing when I play from Steam but when I host the game on the GOG version, he does not see my game in Multiplayer. I can just close the game on GOG and start it on Steam and immediatelly he sees the game hosted and can connect and we proceed to play.
Any idea why Steam+GOG works but GOG+GOG does not? Possible solutions?
When I go to multiplayer playing the GOG version, I see different games hosted than I do playing the Steam version.
We can get around this at the moment by me playing my Steam version of the game and my friend playing his GOG version but I fear we might have the same problem with BGEE2 (we both own it only on GOG).
