I was reading a magic guide on:
http://www.shsforums.net/topic/54584-guide-about-mages-in-baldurs-gate/
And I was wondering if thief detect illusion is countered by any spells. Usually people say that it IS a true sight.
But true sight can be defended against with "Spell Immunity: Divination" which cannot be dispelled until you breach 2 layers of anti dispel protection.
Does the engine actually consider it a true sight attempt or is it its own unique thing? And if the latter, then does anything protect against it? (I hear you need over 100 points in it)
If the thief detect illusion ability is not a true sight and is truly unblockable then it drastically alters the breach order. As even a fully buffed enemy can be taken out as simple as:
1. thief detect illusion
2. everyone melee/ranged attack enemy to death.
