Is a Flind a version of a Gnoll? Or a different creature altogether. In the pnp original version, they had some unique skills I guess. But I really can't get a full description.

Never Mind. Found a site with a description. A "sub-race" of Gnolls.

The only real difference is that Flinds use Bastard Swords, have slightly lower THAC0 and have 2 attacks per round, as opposed to 1 (with Halberds) for ordinary Gnolls.

In the pnp world I guess they had a special weapon of two steel rods wrapped by a chain. The bad boys of the Gnoll world. But in BG1, Gnolls are definitely more bark than bite.
