I have just purchased a "Baldurs gate the original saga" and i want to edit the file Baldurs gate.ini in order to have acces to the CluAconsole. I have tried to add the following lines above [Game opions] :
Cheats=1 or Debug Mode = 1.

nothing is working... note that i have a PC with Windows8

You must edit baldur.ini, and it must be added below, not above, like so:

[Game Options]
Cheats=1

Note that 'Debug Mode' is for Baldur's Gate 2.

Note that text case is important -- capital letters and small letters count.

Also, in BG1 the console is activated by pressing CTRL+TAB together, not by the usual 'tilde', nor by the BG2 CTRL+SPACE.

You can see it in the following screen shot, with the good syntax : Cheats=1

and i have also tried to activate the cluAconsole with CTRL+Tab.

Ok, then where (which file path) do you have the game installed?

OK, it's under C:\GOG Games\Baldurs gate

That's good. If you can edit the file and the edits stick, I cannot see where the problem is. You are quitting the game before editing, yes?

Yes, ok course, the game is closed before editing the file baldurs.ini.

Perhaps i will try to restart the computer...:-(

I don't have Windows 8, but I've heard it can be very awkward to get games running correctly. Maybe that has something to do with it, but one last thing we could try: if you copy/paste the entire contents of your baldur.ini here, I will try to see if there is anything odd going on in the file itself.

It's ok now ! In fact, there was a second file named baldurs.ini witch was running in the system, locating in users\recent....


I suppose that it's a W8 particularity.... thans a lot for your help!!!
