So, not following a guide, I took Aerie up on her offer to do the deed. I later read that my decision means the romance is now over for Shadows of Amn, but does that apply for Throne of Bhaal as well? Pretty much every guide I've seen is for either the main game *or* expansion- never both. If I have managed to lock myself out of continuing the romance in ToB, is where some easy variable fix I can perform on my save file before starting it?

In game
CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("AerieRomanceActive","GLOBAL",2)

Or with ShadowKeeper just set AerieRomanceActive 2
Thanks- a few more questions:

* How do I access the console?

* Is there a way I can check if the romance is still active beforehand?

* Do you know if using the console is even necessary? The game seemed to think Aerie was still in a relationship with the PC during some of the end-game stuff, but that might play even if the romance is ruined.

I think the GOG version has it enabled by default, but if not you need to add Debug Mode=1 Under program options in your Baldur.ini

In the game press Ctrl & space
Then in the box type CLUAConsole:GetGlobal("AerieRomanceActive","GLOBAL")
If it says 2 she's in love with you, if it says 3, it's over.

Thanks. I can't seem to get the console to pop up though. I added the "Debug Mode=1" line under "Program Options" in the baldur.ini file, but ctrl-space doesn't do anything. I checked in the virtual store folder for the mysterious second .ini file people have written about, but I didn't see any Baldur's Gate related folders there.

Any idea what's going on? Is there just some place in the game data I can go diving to check the status manually?

Hah, never mind, resolved it myself almost right after posting- I had entered the debug line in the wrong location.

So, if anyone was wondering, you CAN sleep with Aerie in SoA and then continue the romance in ToB. I'm not sure why pretty much every guide out there is wrong, but they are.

Because it's a universal constant: somebody makes a flawed guide, and then every unscrupulous gaming website on the internet proceeds to copy it, or from it.

The morning after you sleep with her:
1st answer ends romance
2nd answer continues romance
3rd & 4th answer gives you a follow up question, to which 1st answer kills it & 2nd answer continues it.

Aerie's is the easiest of the 3 female bioware romances.
