I can't believe how good it is! I have only played 15-ish minutes, and am blown away already by how much more improved it is. I still love you BG 1, but looks like you have competition! I am still thankful to Landeril for gifting me BG 2; :)

Just wait until you start to pick up some of the epic weaponry. While some may debate which is the best, there is a particular katana that I like the most, and I try to get it ASAP (the battle to get it is pretty awesome, too). This thing is loads of fun, but I won't say much more for fear of spoiling anything.

Jaheira looked better in the old portrait, IMO. Those pointy ears turn me off. I don't mind the "dreads" in the hair, but I don't think they should have put them on as many chicks that they did. Too much of a good thing.

I don't play as much BG2 as I should. I usually try and treat the whole thing as one big game. I roll a character for BG1 with great plans to play all the way through to TOB (which I have done several times). I start a lot more games of BG1 than I finish, so I don't often get to BG2.

Last fall I decided to try a game of BG2 with a new character instead of running through BG1, and it was the most fun I've had with BG2 in a long time.

I've actually played BG2 a lot more than 1, because I only found out about BG 1 half a year or so before 2 released. I also lost both my physical copies sometime between high school and graduating from college and struck gold a couple years later when I found a copy of BG2 at Half Price books. Then as soon as GoG got BG1 I snatched it up and played through it again, but BG2 will always be my favorite.
