Note: Using BG I TuTu(easy tutu i guess), with mod to revert to old interface look.

Pardon yet another post, I've sort of run myself into a bit of a dilemma. (sorta hah)

I installed romance/banter packs(since I'm not used to such a silent party!) but it poses a slight problem with bg I.

Originally I wanted to go through the entire first game via "canon" party minus Imoen, buut with the romance patch+the fact if you have all 3 for a F PC in the party they spat(I'm to amused..), it makes me want to re-arrange things more.

I hate the idea of ditching Minsc as well, and do worry about certain "canon" characters playing a specific role end game.

Long story short, if I keep minsc is this party way to plate heavy?

PC- F/T : dps mostly(no back stabbing)
Jaheira-Used as healer
Ajantis-Healer/tank
Minsc- Dps

Xan-CC
Coran-Used as Archer

My other thought was to ditch Minsc( ;-;) (since vs Khalid he's more second line dps rather then tank)

and go with

PC- F/T : DPS

Jaheira-Healer/misc spells
Ajantis- Tank/misc heals(when needed)

Xan-CC
Edwin(I know why right? Dyna annoys me x.x)- Offset to Xan, back row DPS

Coran-Used as Archer

Ajantis: Healer(maybe side tank)

If I do this should I give Khalid Prof in Sword and Shield, since he only has bastard sword and duel wield at start Oo

Possibly important info?: F PC, Neutral Good, (pondering switching to full Elven vs half elf for one romance spcific thing, but it doesn't feel right).

Don't worry too much about combat efficiency, your character can solo the game if needed. You can afford to make spontaneous decisions, if you haven't played the game before you won't know how well or annoyingly the different NPCs are implemented before you've tested them.

Thank you so much, I have gone through and fiddled around to recruit/test out chars, and the voices of a few like Dyna just sort of grated on me x.x (so many thous!).

Maybe I should just skip Edwin as far as mage pure dps, and keep minsc, go plate! XD+hamster

edit: I guess I could also keep Khalid, annd just leave minsc and Dyna completely out of the equation?

It is worth noting that Xan can tank at high levels thanks to Mirror Image and (if you have a mod that adds a scroll of it into the game) Stoneskin. Of course, mages become better tanks in the sequel.

Note that Baldur's Gate 1 doesn't have Stoneskin scrolls due to the spell not existing in the original engine. On the other hand, note that Mirror Image is weaker in TuTu than in the original engine because there is a chance for attacks to hit the real you and not an image.

Single-class druids can learn Ironskins in TuTu, but Jaheira cannot. If you want a slightly less fighter heavy party, you might replace Jaheira with a single class druid. (Is there one?)

If there is any character that's 'canon', *any* character, it's Imoen. :/

Oh I know@@, I just realllllllllllllly dislike her *shrugs*, probably doesn't help I'm usually mage/healer heavy in BG II+I do my own lock picking as a F/T ahah...

may be willing to drag her along with the rest f they have pivotal story connecting type dialogue or things at the end.

You do realise that she has the best stats of any npc in the entire trilogy? She's awesome. Make a fresh thread about it in this forum.

She's just never been useful to me, even with her stats, plus the annoying part o.o Thank you though very much for all your help!

Annoying part? You mean her voice? Yeah, it grates on me too. Melissa Disney (the V.A.) speaks through her nose, and it's irritating as hell.

Yes that's part of it for sure, just in general though, I've already got a little sister x.x

May take full canon jut for story though? I WOULD like to see the ending which leads to the start of bg II for sure, that was my original intent in fact o.o
