Wanted to start a thread about it, but turns out there already is this one.
As a way of thanking all people involved in developing this game, I'd like to say why I like it. Perhaps others will Chip In. List is not in any order of preference.
1. Attention to detail. This world makes sense, from the general scheme of things down to text shards found around. Just to name two examples:
- did you come across the in-game fanpage with lyrics of a song? (Kerry Eurodyne's, I think) They were excellent.
- car radio. Initially I used to skip driving because I didn't do well with driving. But once I heard a few songs on the car, I've hardly used fast travel ever since.
2. Voice-overs. V (I played only as female), Jackie, Evelyn, Misty, Judy, Panam, Victor, Dum Dum, Johnny...
3. English localization. Playing in English gives a coherent experience of California's cultural diversity. (I didn't play in any other language, so can't say anything about them).
4. story-telling. The ability to induce real feelings as stories unfold: Evelyn's, Jackie's, Victor's cool attitude, Takemura's, Judy's, Panam's, River's...
5. Dialogues, for example between V and Johnny, V and Jackie. Funny, intriguing, or both.
6. Visuals. There were moments when I just had to stop and enjoy the view.
7. The ability to choose playstyle between netrunner or a trigger-happy soldier any minute
8. Weapons. I've never been a fan of shooters, but in this game - I like it.
9. Braindance. An amazing idea!
10. Crafting. The satisfaction when you've finally made the legendary smart SMG...
11. Keanu Reeves. A perfect fit for the game.
12. Music
13. Hacking data terminals - a logic minigame
14. Skippy :-)
To be continued! By me, or you in this thread.
