I got a 1440p monitor and want to play with a 1080p resolution. It works in windowed and borderless modes, but I want it to work in fullscreen without stretching. I want to play with black borders, but it always stretches to fullscreen.

I tried disabeling scaling in the Nvidia driver and tried switching between scaling via the monitor (set to 1:1 scaling) and the GPU (set to "no scaling"). Also tried the "override programm and game scaling" option. Cyberpunk still stretches the image to fullscreen.

Does anyone have a solution?

I got a ultra wide screen but it causes problems like not able to reach buttons at the side as the mouse cursor believes its 1920x1080 resolution so it hits a invicible wall.

What i do is on my desktop i press right mouse button, go to nvidea control panel and select the 1920x1080 resolution there. It shrinks my desktop to that resolution and when ever i start a game it will see it as that so you get your blackbars. You have to restore it after done playing and everytime you boot the game up, but it's a fix for now. hope it works for your too.

Thats a work around I was trying to avoid, but it does work. Thank you. With normal GPU prices I could avoid this all together and just play on the native resolution.
