This is a ready to use version of CK compatible with GOG FO4 provided by @perchik71 (author of "F4 Creation Kit Fixes"). The fix is already preinstalled, but you still need to install the requirements (Material Editor & Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019). Links in the mod description. If you are a gog user and been struggling to run CK, don't hesitate to visit the creation Kit Fix page on nexus and endorse the mod.

This CK package contains the steam_api64.dll file. Won't this conflict with the GOG version of steam_api64.dll?

Skess01: Here not good news about Creation Kit on GOG...:

https://www.nexusmods.com/news/14871

"Can I get the Creation Kit from GOG?
No. At present, the Creation Kit is only available on Steam. Bethesda has confirmed the GOG version is not compatible with the Steam Creation Kit but all mods created using the Creation Kit will work with any PC edition of the game. "
avatar
LaughingCheeze: Of course. Only Bethesda would insist on DRMing the friggin editor. No one else does this Bethesda, why you gotta be like this????

It should be as easy as downloading it like it is for every other editor that I can think of.

This is unfortunate, but I figured this was the case and am not the least bit surprised. I'm not especially interested in future Bethesda titles until they knock off this crap.
Why only on steam, read the CK eula. All mods now made with the kit, are 100% property of bethesda. And these mods can not be found on the nexus. I personally not care, i don't need 100 different skins for my pip-boy.

This works perfectly, thanks!
Haha, what a funny game.

Given that a lot of beth games I've played before had auto-intalled Construction Sets, and beth is believed to also have had such a thing for FO4...

I've desinstalled the gog LONDON mod, noticed the broken FO4, so deinstalled that, too, forgot to reboot my computer at this point (windows has a funtion for delaed to reboot deletion of files), then realized I've already deleted gog FO4, so downloaded that again, installed, noticed an infinite startup intro loop (probably cause by undeleted LONDON-mod files), so deinstalled gog FO4 again, reinstalled, startup-loop gone.

Because I didn't find another reliable download source für the FO4 CK and their promise was "only a PC version of FO4 required", I created a steam account, to make that download, which didn't run out of the box with my PC version of FO4.

The first time I've made all this processing output some error-message was when I tried to start the CK from the steamapps folder using windows explorer. Copying the files to FO4 made windows complain about a missing "get steam user"-enty point instead of a totally missing steam dll.

So much wasted time. And it's not about money. I'd propbably buy FO4 also from steam. Already tried that out. Didn't work because of paypal's shift to require valid mobile phone number. An the other options also don't work here. Not sure if there are prepaid steam codes available in the grocery next door, and I'm not intereted anymore. This would require more hours of replacing gog FO4 with sream FO4 (and for me, FO4 was the weakest beth make I've tried from TES3 on).
Looks like I probably found an easy solution, from the point I just decribeed:

The steam_api64.dll in gog's FO4 GOTY is as already described incompatible with the steam CK.

However, I can startup the CK downloaded from steam using steam_api64.dll found in gog's "fabled lands" (maybe some more gog games, but not any that has a dll with that name).

Only prob so far: That one is incompatible with FO4 itself, so to start FO4, the dll needs to be restored.

So I currently have 2 .bat files like start_ck.bat:

rm steam_API64.dll
copy fl_steam_API64.dll steam_API64.dll
creationkit

EDIT:
No!!! I didn't recognize a render window grafphics related bug (because things are way more complicated than in TES3 CS). So I STILL cannot really use CK, except for very simple things like putting some clutter in the way in "SanctuaryHillsWorld" (that's what I successfully tried). But definetly too buggy grafics to work with. Grafics driver related, I guess.
