Hey all! Please visit this thread for more up-to-date information: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/fallout_4_nextgen_update_is_coming_but_will_likely_be_slightly_delayed.

Right now, I can't unfortunately give you anything concrete.

The update proved to be more difficult than expected but we're determined to make it happen. We're actively working with Bethesda to bring it here. No ETA to give you though :/

I have a 21:9 monitor and I'm in a dual-monitor Linux

If I run the game in any variety of window it allows the mouse to leave and ... doesn't work.
So I have to run in 21:9.

Thought - NO PROBLEM - Next Gen Update added Ultra-Widescreen...
and it doesn't work...

Looks at version... I don't have Next Gen Update...
Looks at forum... "Soon"

I'm used to running a ton of mods and suffering with new versions...
I'm used to coming back to the game about 6 months after a patch and starting over...
and yes - I had to pull some tricks to do that with steam games...
But it's easy here.

So - I can't imagine why the new version isn't available.

I've read several pages of this thread.
There simply are no valid reasons to withhold it - even Skyrim AE has creation club content, and I can't imagine it's so hard that work doesn't translate to FO4...
6 months already damn, like, I understand the update is buggy and introduced new issues, but at this rate we're gonna enter the next NEXT gen without getting it lol
Meh... Going back to Steam cuz i want the new stuff... GOG should be more transparent about what are delaying this so much...

Todd Howard is the one holding things up, but yeah I hear ya.
Where is the damn update…
How long do we have to wait?
Polishing and fixing update? Ffs this sounds dumb.

Rezev: Polishing and fixing update? Ffs this sounds dumb.
Fixing tons of bugs introduced by new update? Seems legit. But I'm more inclined to solving some sort of license change introduced with new update.
may FO4 stay like this 4ever , thank GoG , Forget bout that Nextgenightmare
I wonder which form of bitching is worse?

Bethesda releasing the nextgen fix too early and then people bitching about how still very buggy it is on these forums, reddit, and youtube.

Or people bitching for not being patient?

At this point, Bethesda should just stop caring and focus on Fallout 5 after they complete their next season of the Fallout TV series because of its needed continuity to the game and getting Obsidian on board with the development.

Before the "next gen update" was the time for Bethesda to continue it's neglect.

Nothing of value was added to the PC version by this update. It just made an unnecessary mess.

Heres the thing many people wouldn't be that upset to wait if Bethesda games was not known for by the fact Bethesda games are well known and bought largely for the modding appeal .. And the fact alot of not just the mod tools but the mods themselves are now for the ''Next gen version build'' even old mods have been updated for the next gen version... Aswell as mods''Requires next gen assists to work'' in more and more cases and varies other factors .

Personally I while don't use mods much in any games(aside from maybe some mods to add in more music for the radio) I still want the Next gen update for 1 I never had any problems with the update being bugged even when it first dropped .. in fact it seems many problems users on pc had stated as bugs and glitch's as whole seemed caused by the fact they was playing a modded Fallout 4 rather then the update itself judging by the videos and even Steam threads and other sites that stated so called ''bugs and glitchs'' given what I have heard and read about it ..

All this update do is breaking mods. Better not make this cancerous update.
So this is the issue. Bethesda is trying to trash one of their games again, like Skyrim. They keep "improving" it until all the modders go away and it's no longer worth playing. Because Bethesda games, by themselves, the vanilla version, are not worth playing for more than a couple days. Modders have kept their games alive and Bethesda seems to do everything to destroy the modding community around their games. They release a Special Edition version or an Anniversary edition, that they promise won't break your mods..... oops.

I wish CD Projekt Red would buy up the rights to the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series.
Any news on updates. It would be nice in the future to have the last updates
