Hi there,

today I installed F3 fresh and added this patch/mod/fix from Nexusmods and F3 runs just fine :)
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/24302?tab=files
Install the 2 files in the right directories and have fun in F3 ! :)

Enjoy
Thank you!

Mine runs just fine without this on my Win10/Intel 12400.
Many thanks.

I was not able to start a new game or load one. Probably caused by my AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT.
I had to use DXVK but it was very choppy, not a pleasant experience.

Just copying the d3d9.dll from the mod solved it. It pretends my GPU is a NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS.

If it's stuttering, run F3 windowed. dxvk gives much better performance and hardware usage.
Hi, I noticed that you may skip intro screens, which in my opinion crash the game, by pressing ENTER few times and go directly to the menu screen. If that will not help you may try to use dxwnd application, set the game to run in fullscreen mode and do the same - press ENTER few times while intro screen is loading.

That file contains information about detected gpu - shader version etc. It may or may not benefit your card. It's better to use generator to create that file.

So it's another way around the current issues with AMD drivers. I have a NVidia card which is why mine already works fine...

I did, fullscreen was absolutely unplayable, but still many microstutters. Limiting it to 60 fps on my 144 Hz display or changing desktop refresh rate to 60 Hz did not help much.

Thank you for this information. I now have a .dll faking a Radeon HD 6800 Series GPU. Quick test worked.

Now finally I will start playing and I hope it will not crash every few minutes, as some users mentioned.

Edit:
The generator on NexusMods.
