Dear GOG community,

Am I the only one longing for a good realistic shooter or action game on GOG Mac?
I am bored up with dungeons, elfs, magic swords and spells. Sure, there are some great SF games for Mac and space travels, lasers and Mechwarriors are also fun.

But there's absolutely no realistic shooter available, with the GOG freedom and on Mac OS.
I'd love to see a Rainbow Six, a Soldier of fortune, even a Metal Gear Solid or the latest XIII remake on Mac, via GOG.

Hope this gets some attention ;)
GOG Rocks!

It's not going to happen (most of those had Mac versions but they're too old to run on Macs now even if GOG could get the rights to them), so use Wine.
Sorry to say that Apple's doing their best to kill all gaming on Mac. It was good for a few years there, but then they axed all 32-bit backwards compatibility, then they removed OpenGL in favor of some proprietary API, didn't implement the new standard ones, and also enforced executable signing to make it even harder for developers to work with the system. And, soon, it's going to get even worse as Apple drops AMD/Intel i86/x64 architecture and moves to ARM.

Sadly, when it comes to gaming on Mac, Apple is your worst enemy.

I wouldn't expect much new to be popping up for a while, especially bigger titles.

I am actually in a deep shock for a number of games available for OSX on GOG = more than 700 Games!

• installing win on mac to play it may help ^

• using emulators and ports can help

• few games are on aspyr

(Rainbow Six, Soldier of fortune and old XIII, are on this list, rights and compatibility issue)

No, they did not do that. OpenGL is still around, but it hasn't been updated for some time. Given that the large majority of cross-platform games are made with a 3rd-party engine, it's less relevant anyway as long as the engines support Metal (which they do). Executable signing has been a requirement for years if you want to sell on GOG or Steam (itch.io doesn't seem to care). Less misinformation-spreading, please.

It's more than that, given that GOG doesn't list 32-bit Mac games anymore for some reason, though they're still there and run fine as long as you're on 10.14 or earlier. Probably add another couple hundred to that.
So have you considered giving time to our lord and savior Linux?

Maybe not the best idea to link to an abandonware website, since that legally doesn't exist as a valid term.
