Martek: Not sure what you mean by "never keep receipts" since you don't get a physical piece of paper that you could throw away.
Each purchase results in an email to you with the purchase details.
And when you originally signed up - there were confirmation emails (just as there should have been with this new account you are using now).
You have none of those? Didn't tuck them into a GOG folder in your email system? Deleted them all or what?
mrkgnao: Just pointing out that the OP is not such a bizarre bird.
People treat their data in different ways.
With some specific exceptions, I delete practically all my emails, from GOG and elsewhere.
It's just like I don't record any of my phone conversations, I don't keep emails.
And by delete I do not mean move to a "delete folder", I mean delete.
I understand you do things differently.
Even though this is a NECRO thread, I thought I'd reply.
Hey, no problem doing things different ways.
BUT (big big B.U.T.), if you delete all your receipt emails, then you are personally deciding the risk of ever needing them is so low; such that when a problem crops up where you DO NEED THEM, then you absorb some of the responsibility. No one forced anyone to delete all their "evidence"; and those folks that do should hopefully have the wherewithal to realize they themselves contributed to problems that would be more easily solved had they not done that.
Pretty simple.
Not saying you don't realize that - since my original reply was to someone else, in this old thread.
