I dunno. Maybe it's not much by today's standards... But that's one hell of a toaster.
Maybe PC version is just an unoptimized port of the toaster version.

Mr.Mumbles: Looking at the screenshots, the highly pixelated enemy textures look terrible especially when mixed with the much higher fidelity backdrop of the levels. Even early full 3D shooters didn't look this bad in comparison.

"Am I Evil" by Metallica, right? There's also "Am I Demon" by Danzig. Well, and probably a few more, but that's just what comes to mind right now. I wonder if the game title is a reference to those.

Then hexen 2 more advanced

The clue to remembering is that hexen was called hexen: beyond heretic.

To be honest part of what made Hexen/Heretic for me was the cool sprites for enemies, it just isn't the same with 3d models.

The gameplay doesn't look shabby, but those super low-res enemy textures still bother me.

Side note: They mentioned the Doom mod Return of the Triad, and I just gave it a whirl. Pretty good stuff.
