I have come across this indie game, Ancient Cities. I haven't found any mention of it in the forums so I though I'd start this topic.

It's a city builder/simulator set in the Neolithic era, where you control a tribe of hunter-gatherers in search of a place to settle down. Planned features include economic management, citizens with individual atributes and personalities, enemy tribes, seasonal cycles or migrations. The trailer probably sums it up better:

I like the look of it, even if it's still alpha, but I absolutely love the setting - I have been wanting to play a game of this genre and this time period for a long time. And a DRM-free release is confirmed - they even have the GOG logo in one of the banners of their IndieGogo page. It's still in early develpment, though (estimated release date is late 2018). I will be keeping an eye on its development.

I think I saw a video of it once in a video of upcoming city builders. Looks really cool, and agreed, love the setting!
The game idea is great but i don't like this fancy graphics .
Sounds like a cool concept, and I agree the adoption of agriculture, development of complex societies etc. is a fascinating subject. Probably won't run on my current pc, but might be nice if this came to GOG.

Looks interesting, maybe I'll keep an eye on it (although I never buy new games, and I probably won't make an exception in this case).

May I suggest contacting the developers directly and making that suggestion? They're the ones who have to reach out to GoG to see if they can get their game listed here.

Looking at their website, all I see is "Purchase thru Steam" though.

edit: Oh and thank you for searching first. :)

Got better eyes than me. Thank you.

Of course they could pull another Startup Company on folks. I swear I poked around their website and just saw mentions of Steam.

edit: Just looked at the page. I didn't skim the rewards as I;ve got to admit releasing on a second or more platform wouldn;t be something I would consider to be a Kickstarter award.

Looks interesting! Thanks for bringing it up for attention. I'll have to keep an eye out for the DRM-free release. :)
Looks a little like Banished.

Hope it's not as hard. :P
That's quite an amount they've got via crowdfunding. I hope the development goes well. Release date has shifted a bit since I started the thread, it is now estimated as late 2018 or early 2019 (https://ancient-cities.com/faq.php). It's great they have already promised a DRM-free release, and explicitly mention GOG on their site.

I would buy this if it comes to GOG, looks like my type of game. Nice to see more city builders, for a while there it wasn't much else than SimCity and Tropico.
Looks interesting. Hope it releases on GOG.
There is an interview with the developers of the game in The Indie Game Website:
