Hi, I'm new to GOG but I was wondering if there were any games on here that were similiar to the old pokemon games in terms of graphics, story, or really anything else. Thanks for reading!

I may be wrong as I pay more attention to security than game design but seems like to me most of those games are hand held based than PC based.

Some discussion about that:

https://www.quora.com/Why-arent-there-any-good-Pok%C3%A9mon-games-developed-for-PC-with-good-graphics

As well as a google search for lists of similar games:

https://www.google.com/search?q=pc+games+that+were+similar+to+the+pokemon

The only thing that comes to mind is Starbound which has collectable pet battles:

https://www.gog.com/game/starbound

And from the reviews, I'd be hard pressed to by the game simply for that.

Sorry but that's all I can think of.

Thanks you. I appreciate the response!
Depending on what you like about Pokemon, you might be interested in other JRPGs. There are some lists to check, like https://www.gog.com/mix/jrpgs_on_gog
Eminage Gothic makes it possible to turn any normal enemy into a party member. (The enemies do lose many, though not all, of their monster characteristics when this is done, however.)

(Be warned: This game can be quite brutal once you get past the beginning.)
If you enjoy the Collecting aspect of it (and not just sending the animals out to fight for you), you may enjoy Dragon Cave.

https://dragcave.net/

I'm totally addicted to that game. So many different dragons to collect, hatch, raise, and breed. ( :
Zanzarah is similar in that you use creatures of various magic/damage types in order to fight other creatures to make them weak enough that you can use balls of different levels to collect them and use them to fight more creatures and level up (there is an ultimate goal in the game as to why you're doing all this, but I forgot what it is, probably something about saving the fairy world).

The graphics show a fairly detailed 3D environment, the camera can be set to first or third person, and the fights are move involved as you use the chosen creature run and fly around the arena, trying to hit the other creature with your abilities and trying to not get hit.

Sadly no on GOG yet. The game title in this post links to the Steam page.
