It's kinda weird to think it will probably be in Early Access for some 2 years before it actually gets a full release. That said, it's probably what CDPR should have done with Cyberpunk.

Anyway, is it strange that I'm actually glad it won't be released this year? I treat Early Acces games as non-existant, and there's so many RPGs out already that I have not even bought yet, like Disco Elysium, Tyranny, Pillars of Eternity, Pathfinder: Kingmaker, GreedFall and many others, that I'm actually kinda happy I won't have to add another one to that list for a while.
You want to buy a finished, polished product, not something rushed or broken.

Of those you just mentioned I can recommend Tyranny. I had more fun with it than with PoE, from visuals, to music, story and dialogue. I'll have to go back it one of these days and reunite with Verse and Barik.

probably ill do that , glad epic gave it away
I dont mind the delay , way better than half made product release.
I'll wait for the final release even if this means waiting until the next year. Don't want to spoil myself the first act before I'll have the option to play the full game. The developers should take their time. We don't want to see a half-finished product released only because there's pressure to release it earlier. I'm perfectly fine with the next year's release date. I still have lots of games to finish, so no rush. :)

Not at all. People can play it and the devs can still adjust it based on community feedback. It's a win-win if you ask me.

In our hearts, it is still in beta. The "GOTY" edition will count as a final release...

I'm not saying it's a bad thing. Just... a little strange to me. I thought it would be much closer to being finished. I just feel like long time spent in Early Access sort of steals a game's thunder. "The long awaited sequel to the classic hit finally releases on September 20th 2022!" and instead of "oh shit, it's actually happening!" it's more of a "so? it's been around for 2 years. Big whoop."

I think of Tyranny as one of the best games in recent years (from 2016 onwards I mean). Obsidian delivered once more.
I'll say this though: do not underestimate the Oldwalls.

Not suprised, may even be one that never really gets finished. M&B Bannerlord is looking like that, what is it 10, 15 years now…
And even then it will need pendor, perisno, LDoME, or one of those to be really good.
Looking forward to the finished project! Sadly lack the time to play the already released EA stuff (which apparently is pretty nice already and already plenty of hours of content) and then after the finished game - so i will just wait until the proper release until i dig into the game. Pretty sure they will deliver a good game though

I get that and I agree to some degree, I played through the existing content twice now and a bit of the 'oomph' is understandably gone.

But in this particular case early access/in-dev makes a lot of sense (in my oppinion). They are a rather small team of self-publishing developers and a long development cycle without revenue could break their back. This is a (hopefully) huge game after all. :)
So far at least it looks like the game will turn out great!

Well, yes, this is somewhat true. But you can't have your cake and eat it too. Less excitement, more quality down the road. It's all about delayed gratification, a sentiment on the verge of extinction in this day and age.

It's either this or the devs/publisher keeping a game under wraps for years and then hitting us out of the blue with it. Not something any marketing person would endorse. And let's be honest, anything of this sort would leak minutes later anyway.

I've literally never played an early access game. If any could persuade me it's this one, but playing Act 1 over and over just doesn't appeal to me. Plenty of other stuff on my to-do list while I wait.
