Ubisoft's servers are getting DDoS and video games that have no multiplayer at all like Assassin's Creed Odyssey is not launching because of the stupid microtransactions store and Uplay and all that crap.

oh no poor screwbisoft!

not
Gamers are still gonna gobble that shit up. I wonder how many millions Ubi made with Assassin's Creed Odyssey alone.

Hell, I wonder how many millions they made from microtransactions in Assassin's Creed Odyssey alone.

Anyone knows if the PS4 version of Odyssey requires online connection and/or uplay account?
Ahahaha can't say I feel sorry for them. Keep paying for the junk infected by all sorts of 'protections', get a stupid prize.
Fuck them, i haven't bought any Ubisoft, EA or Activision titles in many years except some that GOG offers and i don't feel like i miss out in the slightest.

Nothing strange with that though since it's hard to miss all garbage games they have put out in recent years.

Same here I will purchase Assassin's Creed Syndicate, Assassin's Creed Origins, and Assassin's Creed Odyssey from gog.com when Ubisoft sells it without Denuvo and VM Protect and removes the microtransactions store and Uplay and to run on AMD Phenom X II CPU's.

Which will be in fifty years so I can wait.

The same thing goes for all AAA video games released for sale.
There was a time I would have worried about that, but the last Ubisoft game I bought was Far Cry (2004). Due to a combination of more recent multi-layered DRM (UPlay + Denuvo + VMProtect), "we don't make games, only franchises", and their "future direction" of Games as a Service, they've been dead to me for well over a decade now.
Well, let's not pick ResetEra as the source, that's the bottom of the bottom of the barrel.

Here's something relevant.

distributed denial-of-service (DDoS)
haha, eat it ubisoft.
I'd laugh if I knew it made any difference. I doubt it does. Desperate game addicts will keep buying these games, money will keep pouring in.. only "hackers" get blamed for the temporary inconvenience.
This is the reason why i don't buy games that need online servers to use i have lost 350 from sunseted servers between 2004 and 2010, this is how i came here to gog and trusted them onbeing the only place i buy games now besides yard sales thift shops etc..

i perfer my games on cd and in boxs but thanks to their greed they made us go digtal and lie about how they are not drm if online servers lol....

Gog scares me as they push towards galaxy client and i watched their 10 year anniversy video and kept thinking why did these guys want us here at gog to be like steam,,, i hope they won't cause if they do im never buying another game except used in box as long as i live,,,,,

Spent 5 years not buying games when i discovered this site and they are the only store i buy games at will never use steam or orion,,,or even galaxy client, i see my free game today uses it only and cant play with out the client lame days coming i guess :(

We are still waiting for Assassion's Creed II for *&$% sake...... hell when was the last time Ubisoft released a game on GOG?
It kinda warms my heart, because Odyssey really looks like a great game in an underused setting I'd absolutely love to explore, but my PC would probably explode trying to run the main menu :P So it's nice to be reminded that even with cutting edge machine I still wouldn't touch it anyway.
