A lot of classics this year. After mentally sampling them for a moment, I picked Lost Vikings Amiga.
Nothing beats this https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PiYuq6Ac3a0
Definitely this:

Castlevania Chronicles on home computer X68000 with Roland MT32 / Sound Canvas-55 (July 23, 1993). I prefer MT-32, for some reason I find the instruments on SC-55 are out of place.

I've never had X68000, I think maybe 2 ultra reach persons had it in my city back in the day. But in my opinion nothing would top it, not even Doom which came much later with General MIDI support. I also think that Castlevania's music is much more *clear* than in Doom.

P.S. The link could not be opened from my Russian IP, I had to revert to the help of VPN.

Bit late, but for 1992 this https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=k6dHm44nQ3I blows the competition out of the water

However, Wikipedia/Moby list the Sega CD realease (from which the above was taken) for 1994...

A lot of good choices for this year but I will go with Cannon Fodder on the mighty Amiga as War, never been so much fun!
Richard Joseph is one of those legendary 16 bit musicians, in the same league as Chris Huelsbeck, Allister Brimble, Tim Follin and others.

Honourable mentions to The Settlers and Chaos Engine, I also think that Hired Guns should have been on the list -

Yeah and the PC one uses streaming audio in cutscenes and mod music on title screen and in-game it seems like.

I did forget to list PC redbook OSTs in the poll this time though, so here are the best 1993 ones I could find when researching them:
The Even More Incredible Machine (CD ver.)(PC Redbook)
The 7th Guest (PC Redbook)(some vocal tracks)
King's Quest VI (CD ver.)(PC Redbook - staff roll only?)(vocal track), In-game - streaming audio intro in mono, midi in-game
Inca (CD ver.)(PC Redbook)(some vocal tracks)
Protostar: War on the Frontier (CD ver.)(PC Redbook) - streaming audio in mono for the logos
Jurassic Park (CD ver.)(PC Redbook)
Return to Zork (PC Redbook)
The Labyrinth of Time (PC Redbook)
Sam & Max: Hit the Road (PC Redbook - tracks 47-50 only?)(one vocal track) - mostly midi, redbook=remastered midi besides the vocal one?
Alone in the Dark (CD ver.)(PC Redbook) - includes Jack in the Dark (christmas promo bonus mode, seems to only have adlib support)
Master of Orion (PC Redbook?) - midi-based (different from SC-55 and MT-32 uploads so probably cd)
TFX (PC Redbook) - remastered midi tracks

I went with Doom. Clearly not the most sophisticated of the list, but quite a soundtrack to headbang while banging demons from hell. :)
Yeah. Easy Doom. Varied and perfectly fits. There are some worse outliers like E3M8, but most of it is great.
Very good selection, like Gabriel Knight etc.

Anyway, I picked Strike Commander (Roland MT-32 music):

Oh shit, Privateer was also released in 1993?

I don't really know for sure which I consider better, Strike Commander (Roland MT-32) or Privateer (Roland SCC-1)?

They both have so great music, among the very best if not The Best MIDI music I recall hearing in PC games.

Cool, I hadn't really looked properly at GM music like SC-55 and later yet. I'll add it.
