A US lawfirm is filing a class action suit against the big 3 DRAM manufacturers for colluding to inflate prices from 2016-2017. Here is the form: https://www.hbsslaw.com/cases/dram-price-fixing
Haha about time this happened. I'm assuming they found evidence of price fixing if they're going forward with litigation? Even if it doesn't go in our favour in the US, the ''triopoloy'' will probably increase production and finally lower prices so they don't get similar suits in every other country.
I believe they have evidence. I went ahead and signed up, since between 2016-'17, I bought a desktop for myself and my mother, as well as a 16gb RAM kit. The smart phone was a cheapo for $25, so I didn't even list it.

Let's also have a CAL against bitcoin miners! >:U

I don't think the Blu Studio phones I bought count. I'd have to check.

I did buy them in 17', buuuut they were all under 300 dollars anyway so I'm not that broken up.

Yeah the article I read that told me about this did say they've been sued before, and haven't learned their lesson.
Yeah... these kind of price-fixing schemes happens everywhere and they would do it again in a heartbeat. The last time the prize on a component rose significantly was when the tsunami struck some years ago. They can't blame it on anything this time.

A shame that these kind of lawsuits never gain much traction in the general public area. I believe it would be in every consumers best interest to get informed and to discuss these practices.
got my iphone 7+ in March 2017. Not going to sign up as I can expect to NOT get $869 from the lawsuit-more like $8.69 AT BEST (which wouldn't even cover the payment on the phone)
I'd consider it, but my cut wouldn't even cover the payment on my Moto X. :|
Guys, regardless of monetary amount, signing up shows these RAM producers that their actions have not gone unnoticed. I don't think they care though.
