Just being some kind of rebel, especially a good person rebel, is far less common than you might realize, certainly from what I have seen. I've been a rebel all my life in things that matter to me, that aren't like they should be, but many seem to be a rebel with no reasonable cause. In most other things I am pretty much the same as most people.

Injustice especially has always inspired me to rebel. So there has to be logic and reason to it, for me to see it as valid ... not just some emotional bias and or anger at the world or just to be mischievous.

P.S. And since my previous post I have just lost 7 REP, as I am now on 689 and was 696. Clearly a targeted attack which occurred in just the space of a few hours. They just never learn it is pointless to do it to me.

I hope they won't disapear because I need them. If we are talking about RL then there's always reason for discontent. Because power corrupts and if an individual or some organisation gets too much power then they become utterly rotten. This is universal and nothing to do with politics. For example when huge corporation becomes more and more monomolistic then their business practices becomes less and less customer oriented. That corporation might or might not be in gaming, it doesn't matter it's so universal. This is why it's so important to criticise even companies we do like since there's nothing negative if we want our favourite company to improve. It's only bad if we give up and stop caring. You might start to like it. :) You have awfully lot of R3P for a R3B3L. :D

It's not too hard to restore things, especially with family members and friends here at GOG, and with a bit of know how. In fact it takes less work than for those doing the negative REP, and doesn't suffer from their limitations.

Not that I care really, but it can be a fun game for children, and I'm still in touch with the child in me, who likes to tease bullies and make them feel ineffective. I'm not into revenge though, that's a silly game, and by not engaging in it I am the moral winner, and that has greater value to me.

The naughty folk or person dropped me down to 686 REP after I'd automatically risen back to 689. And I see that most posts in this thread are now downvoted, or at least yours and mine. You gotta laugh really and how pathetic they are.

It was actually 20 REP and I copped 1 downvote in the middle of doing it, probably from you. I already stated I know how to recover from negative votes targeting me, so nothing new there.

And I already declared a week or two back that I no longer downvoted my list of obnoxious people when I auto hide them, including you. It was never a deliberate downvote anyway, just an aspect of hiding you. I now know how to do one without the other.

But hey believe what you want.

My money is on you and others on that list of obnoxious people, for all the negative voting going on. None of it has been from me. I wouldn't be so childish. Unless you think I am downvoting myself to make myself look innocent ... wouldn't put it past the things you are capable of believing.

Also, if you have a fanclub or simply friendly neighbouring family who like foreigners and you are in good terms with, then you don't have to worry about rep, they will take care of it for you.

It doesn't usually help much to hold grudges for a super long time......and also those one disagrees with have nice/informative things to say now and then, to which I sometimes feel a nice reply is in order.

And (seemingly) according to the mod I spoke with, it's not even an offense they will mod for, so those others doing such can show their affections for other users to their heart's content. Won't they be so happy to hear that? :)

I don't know which threads you are talking about, so this is wild speculation, but could it be that the first post was a troll post/baiting, and the reason the replies are getting downvoted is because they are feeding the troll/taking the bait?

Well, the only flaw I see with that logic is that the rep doesn't matter. It's not like in Reddit where it impacts your visibility or reach. You can't even see the number here. All it does is to show how badass you are.

Over a single post, no it doesn't affect anything. However over time having a higher rep will generally indicate that people appreciate the posts you are making, as they will be more likely to vote positively, while a user who makes posts that people do not appreciate will see their rep gradually decline, again indicating that the hivemind doesn't appreciate their posts.

It's a visual summary of a user's reputation on the forum, how well received their presence and contributions are.
