System Shock 2 was originally released in 1999 and this cult classic sci-fi horror FPS with RPG elements has become widely considered as one of the best video games of all time.

Now, from the hands of Nightdive Studios, the System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition is coming soon to GOG!

With the goal of reverse engineering the original code to port SS2 to the KEX Engine, this upcoming title will let us enjoy the legendary game from almost 25 years ago, all with cinematics, textures, characters and weapon models updated, and the Co-Op Multiplayer overhauled to create a seamless experience.

Make sure to wishlist it so you won’t miss its release or any special offer and check out the 2023’s System Shock remake to fully prepare for the Enhanced Edition!

Been checking out the KS forums about the new SS2 Remake and a lot of people are upset about never getting their promised copy of the Enhance Edition. Hopefully this light a proverbial fire under Nighdive's ass and we'll see some resolution on this.

ANNOUNCEMENT #1: The Global Release Date For System Shock will be May 30th, 2023

That date will apply to the game's release on all major PC platforms, including Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store.

A note from our publisher Plaion, "We had hoped to bring the game to market by the end of March but that turned out to be just beyond our reach; we are after all merely human (unlike Shodan!)”

The PC edition of System Shock is available to pre-order via Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store - and includes a free copy of the upcoming System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition for all early buyers. The newly released Steam Next Fest playable demo can be found on the respective storefronts.

Console editions of System Shock will release on PlayStation 4|5 and Xbox One and Series S|X in due course; more details on this when we have them.
