I have an emptiness I can't fill. I miss these games greatly and wanna play them here. The hammy videos, the base building, the walls and lasars, the ion cannon and over the top pulse raising soundtrack. These are my childhood memories. I plead with gog or EA to make it happen. On a similar subject why are there so few rts games getting made.Slitherine games have released over 200 strategy games since 2000 not too far removed from this genre and EA just sit on a potential goldmine.Whats going on?
The C&C series is one of the ones most requested by us to show up on GOG, but I'm sure they have not appeared here yet because EA is EA. We don't even have Dead Space 2 here. There's a reason they are constantly voted as one of the most hated companies in Ameirca. After the last C&C bombed hard I could see them holding onto the series just for spite.
I doubt a C & C collection will be happening soon , the C & C collection is being touted as a origin exclusive by EA, we should at least try to get red alert 3 here
I just want Generals...I don't care about the other games in the series.
I know...I'm "that" kinda C&C Fan that only likes that one entry in the series.

Yeah, EA would earn a lot of money by releasing C&C here but noooo...

Gotta keep a lid on that property that they cancel multiple games in a row before closing WestWood..

Because... Profit?

Ah, the days of trying to winzip the c&c demo across 6 floppy discs, or the funny voice acting "ve-hi-kle ready"
Anyways, was the first and red alert released for free?
Plus, there is openra:
http://www.openra.net
Technically, Command & Conquer and it's expansion are freeware. You can download it from many C&C fan sites. The first Red Alert (and its expansions) and Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun (and Firestorm) are also both freeware. All of these were released as freeware by EA to promote Red Alert 3 iirc.

So, if you got an itch, you can scratch it for free. They work fine on Windows 10 as is, there is a fan patch. OpenRA is okay as long as you don't mind some critical rule changes and balance changes to the gameplay. OpenRA is more for online.

As long as you aren't a "Renegade" fan we'll let you live. ;P

Hoop: I plead with gog or EA to make it happen.
Or make it happen yourself: buy the retail versions or the First Decade* collection. This way you won't have to wait for EA to release them here, something that may not happen soon or at all.

(*) it includes all C&C up to Generals and it's expansion.

I do... (as well as the complete collection on Origin)
There is an extensive fanpatch - https://cncnz.com/hosted-projects/command-patch/the-first-decade-unofficial-patch/

And a forum thread should you have issues - https://forums.cncnz.com/topic/19456-cant-run-the-first-decade-properly-on-windows-10/

Of course i have it; i bought it specifically for Renegade!! ROFL! :P

Joking aside, i'm not sure if they work on Win10 but a quick search showed that a lot of people managed to run them on this OS by applying fan patches, tinkering with the compatibility options and whatnot. I also read that the DRM used in C&C:TLD (good old disc check) also doesn't run on Win10, although it isn't a problem anymore since the 1.03rev4 unofficial patch removes it completely. The first games on the origin's ultimate collection works fine on W10 with some minor patching.
