Can't find any numbers on the total users of GOG (which would help gauge a whereabouts number for HOMM3), but if The Witcher 3 numbers are anything to go by, and with this already topping that, it wouldn't be surprising if HOMM3 is dethroned.

I'm assuming it's based on sales, as is usually the case, but I could be wrong.

That's a good point.

According to the sites pasted below, Witcher 3 sold over 28 million copies, over 12M of which were on PC.

Can't find any current numbers on Witcher 3 sales between GOG vs Steam, however, it sold more copies on GOG than on Steam at launch, reportedly.

Even with this info, it's difficult to guess the number of copies Witcher 3 sold on GOG, therefore even more difficult to assume anything about CP2077 or HOMM3.

Maybe it'll be easier to gauge how much HOMM3 has sold when CP2077 numbers are reported.

Most of it hysteria from spurned "videogames journalists". I said in some earlier posts this would happen with the refunds too.
