Anyone here ever heard of this old game or played it?

I discovered it recently in my internet adventures and it seems as if it was a pretty cool game, an action adventure in a grim post-apocalyptic setting, 3D but using the fixed camera position and pre-rendered environments reminiscent of the older Resident Evil titles. I looked up further and apparently the game is unplayable on modern systems, it even crashes on Windows XP apparently. I was published by MicroProse so technically Atari (already on GOG) should be able to sell it here, if GOG can work some magic and make it work on modern systems.

Thoughts?
It is already on the GOG wishlist:http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/dark_earth I suppose you just want to highlight the game as a topic.
Yeah I had already voted for that, I was just curious if anyone had actually played it before
Dark Earth is really cool, I got it when it came out. Very nice and complex setting, cool characters, great voice acting (at least the original french version). I remember it was quite difficult though, or maybe I was just inexperienced, but the combat could be unforgiving at times.
One confusing thing was that the game was somehow a race against time: certain events happened after a given period of time, and if you hadn't taken the proper steps prior to that, you'd be pretty much screwed. The game wouldn't be unfinishable, but it would be much more difficult to figure out because you'd have missed important elements earlier. I guess that's why I never finished it although I started 2 or 3 playthroughs.
Good memories though, I'd definitely replay it if it comes to GOG!

Please make it happen GOG!
I was lucky enough to grab it on an auction for next to nothing. It's Alone in the Dark (classic trilogy) meets postapocalyptia meets dark fantasy - very nice and enjoyable combination.
And it crashes quite often (on XP; I guess it won't work at all on modern systems) which is pretty frustrating with the game's savepoint system and rather high difficulty leve. So yes, this game needs GOG magic.
I still can remember the box cover...
Great game! Would love to see it here on GOG so I can actually finish the thing after multiple tries back in the day.
Just watched a gameplay video, looks really cool, voted!
I played the demo back in the days and I still have a version somewhere I haven't touched yet, it tends to get buggy with DOSbox, or so I heard.
I had already voted for it, and it would certainly make a nice addition to my ever increasing gog collection.

I'm still waiting for that game. I had trouble running it on new systems.

Unfortunately, we didn't get that cover, we got this one.

I was never able to do very well in the game, but it had great atmosphere and style. While I still have the disc and would like to try revisiting it, it won't even install on modern systems because it uses a Windows 3.1-based (16 bit) installer.
Ahhh... the old times, when the french released good and original games.
