While Mr. Cage has been known to create some oddball games and generally was known as a strange man, it would appear his behavior has gone south.

In the linked article, he is accused of using some rather strong phrasing in regards to women and others; of such harsh language that I shan't repeat it here.

(Source article is linked in that discussion; original articles are in French.)
I skimmed the comments and it says he said that his studio doesn't make games for 'f***' and that in all his games all women are 'w*****' and there aren't boobs in space. TBH since he said this during an interview, I'm assuming he just did it to cause drama and gain some publicity with it. Since its a legal battle between the studio and the newspapers, I don't think there's much more to talk about before the case is disposed of.

On the other hand, I'd suggest that maybe facing consequences and running out of a courtroom sobbing, seems like maybe he's got bigger problems than the average tabloid would throw.

Hopefully he deals with it privately. Not taking twitter too seriously would be a good start.

I have no sympathy (or even antipathy for that matter even if I don't like most of his games and hate Heavy Rain with a passion) for David Cage or Quantic Dream but the original article is not exactly from the most trusted unbiased source.

For example photo montage mentioned were not created by Cage or Quantic Dream but by an employee as a "joke" and when peoples started complaining about it they were removed and the author warned by the company. Also until now Quantic Dream won all of its lawsuit against former employee and all controls from French authorities, be it the labor inspection or the social security, didn't found any irregularity at the company.

So it would be good to have a more trustworthy source news on what really happen during this lawsuit even thought they will probably lose this one as defamation is always harder to prove.
I don't know who this David Cage is, other than obviously somehow related to Nicholas Cage, probably his long-lost stepbrother who got separated at birth (easy to do as they were not real brothers anyway).

What I could gather from this thread is that apparently:

- this David guy has been in court for making "misogynist" and "homophopic" comments (Really? In which country?)

- apparently I shouldn't buy his games due to his comments, of which I don't even know what they are, in which context he made them (was he making stupid jokes or was he harassing someone) etc.

Somehow, I feel these game developer dramas (who said what and when, who got owned etc.) were much more interesting like 20 years ago. Anyone remember e.g. this:

As Breja recently said in another thread: #ThisIsntTwitter

That aside, I will still play his games no matter what. Why? Because I can separate the art from the artist

He heads Quantic Dream which made Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human. ''That'' kind of developer who's high profile because he's an ''artiste'' and because the press clings to his work because they don't know about other games / developers.

From the French article, which I don't understand, I approximate that his studio is suing two newspapers for spreading the ''problematic'' stuff he said in an interview, as well as for reporting about alleged fraud and toxic workplace culture. Date for verdict is July 8th, so we'll probably know the glorious English games-press's takes then.
