Fairfox: wut are teh best dream-state gamies?

liek... dreams or hallucinatory ooor drug-fueled oooor general lee hazee an' free-flowin'

can a gamie sustain taht whole wai thru or can it only do it in pockets/bursts? wud you even want to liek play a game start 2 finish in taht abstract manner or do you need moar uuuh structure 'n' depth?
The Void is pretty dreamy throughout. I have not played through to the end, but it is a real challenge to be so free flowy all the time.

Memorable dream-like passages in games:
The character creation section of Torment: Tides of Numenara - I liked this one a lot.
The Viet Nam section of Shadowman. All the boss fitghts were in another dimension. And this one in particular had the best Doors imitation music ever. And the soundtrack was machine gun fire. It was all very trippy and anxious.
Like Shadowman, the Silent Hill games alternate between two realities, one of which is very dreamy. I remember the first time I played Silent Hill on the PS1 with my youngest brother. I don't remember if it was the first or second game, but the first time we entered a school building and reality shifted to the dream world and these little ghost children mobbed our ankles... I was properly freaked out!
I swear I thought of The Void immediately off the top of my head and I was going to look at the store page just to be sure but I've been ninja'd.
Yume Nikki springs immediately to mind as the de facto "dream" game.

In my opinion, both these games are dream simulators.
Max Payne of course.

But i've also spent an inexcusable amount of hours on (the first couple of screens of) Weird Dreams, on the Amiga. Loved its visuals. But damn the gameplay was bad.
*cough*

Fairfox, it must take you ages to encrypt each of your posts into a strange language with non-existent words.
So I have to ask... why?

Must it really? After seeing so many such posts, I have to wonder if a novelty text filter is being used. They used to be common on UNIX systems, but my distro apparently doesn't carry any, and the best I could find online was a very small number of filters.

But I still have to ask 'Why'?
I'm not the only one who has a hard time de-coding this stuff.
So why make such nonsensical posts?
edit: Nevermind.

Why? For the glory of foxes, of course!

Not a Fairfox, bur for real, it could just be for fun. And harmless fun at that, even more so if you consider some actually obnoxious ways people try to get a laugh on the internet through trolling, harassment, etc. As long as Fairfox isn't performing rituals to bring back The Ancient Ones, I think we'll all be fine.

And now, to get back on the theme of this thread: I don't know of any games that take place 100% in a dream, but Max Payne 1 and 2 have dream sequences as someone mentioned before. Also, I heard there's a game called "Emily Wants to Play", either the first or second one, in which the tutorial is a dream or something like that...
Maybe you could argue that P.T. was a dream, but we'll never know as the game got cancelled.

And I wouldn't have any problems with playing a game that takes place in dreams, as long as they don't do something wacky with the cameras for the whole thing, I can only stand that for so long before it gets annoying.

Once I accidentally read a Fairfox post out loud, and summoned an Elder God into my room. Better don't mess with that.
Super Mario USA took place entirely in a dream IIRC. (Game is called Super Mario Bros. 2 in the US, but it is not the same game Japan got with that title.)

Does Doki Doki Panic take place in a dream, or is that a difference between the two (otherwise similar) games?

If you beat the game, don't you find out that Peggle was all a dream. You awake and find that all the colored balls are still in place?
