Example: Moto Racer is a game that runs in 640x480 resolution. I have a 1920x1080 monitor, and I want the game stretched to the native resolution vertically with black bars on the side to keep the image aspect correct.

If I select the 1920x1080 resolution in dgVoodoo, no matter what type of scaling mode I select, the image is gets stretched to fill the full screen.

If I select 1280x960 resolution in dgVoodoo, but then depending on the options I either have the sharp 1280x960 image centered on the screen with black bars on all sides, or a slightly blurry image stretched vertically to fit the display.

What I want to be able to is select the 1920x1080 resolution and have the image be centered as an effectively 1440x1080.

I suspect there would be no issues if Nvidia Control panel simply allowed me to create a custom 1440x1080 resolution, but it does not allow custom resolutions when DSR resolutions are enabled.

So, are there any workarounds that don't necessitate disabling DSR every time I want to play a 4:3 game at 1440x1080?

Edit: Nevermind, discovered the answer soon after posting - turns out even without the custom resolution I can just update dgVoodoo.conf to use 1440x1080 directly and it works!

I suspect that the resolution you choose in DGvoodoo is not an actual video mode but rather what you are asking DGvoodoo to scale it to. By selecting 1440x1080 it scales the game to that and then adds the black bars to produce a 1920x1080 image. Glad it worked any way.
