Undead army with glowing blue eyes that lives in the cold north, led by an "Ice King" type character. They've even got an undead dragon too.
The first Warcraft was 1992 and the first Game of Thrones was 1996, so the dates help your theory, but nothing else does. :P

If you want to point out specific characters, "The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe" had an Ice Queen and that was published in 1950, so both Blizzard and Martin may have some explaining to do. :P

ALSO if you watch "ALIENS" and then play StarCraft you'll see that Blizzard isn't really big on originality, and that's just the Aliens stuff. The game also takes directly from "The Simpsons", "The Hunt For Red October", and Star Trek TNG just to name a few.

The Lich King as a character was introduced in Warcraft 3 (he was a "normal" orc shaman before) in 2002. The last mission in Frozen Throne is called a Symphony of Frost and Flame. Frozen Throne was released in 2003 - A Song of Ice and Fire already had 3 books published by then.
I doubt it, it's a fairly well known trope.
Most of Warcraft's 'lore' is derivative of other works such as Lord of the Rings, in which the ring wraiths have glowing eyes I think.
nah i gotta pass on that :D
OH

The Lich King was only introduced in the Frozen Throne exppack for WC3 though. So I'm not sure who copied what. The show might have taken some inspiration from Wrath of the Lich King, who knows.

The politics, political maneuvering and scheming of GOT between factions is definitely not found in Warcraft though. Might say GOT ripped off Crusader Kings 2 but CK2 was released in 2012.

Warcraft itself, as the developers have mentioned, is based and inspired by Warhammer. They failed to get a Warhammer license to make games back in the day and therefore they made their own story and world, giving birth to Warcraft. Ever since Warcraft have created content based from inspiration from other sources as well, such as Tolkien, Lovecraft etc.
Well, since Warcraft ripped off Warhammer... and Warhammer ripped-off Tolkien, and Tolkien ripped-off all sorts of European fairy tales and myths...

STOP THIS CULTURAL APPROPRIATION!!!
Super Mario Brothers ripped off the Epic of Gilgamesh.

Wait. Scratch, reverse that.

The Night King is a show only creation. The book's Night's King is a completely different character, and a historical figure, not part of the ongoing story. Still, yeah, of course Game of Thrones didn't "ripoff" Warcraft.
