What does "disc access problem" mean when trying to install a game? Been trying for days and it keeps failing.

What game? How are you installing? What system are you installing on?

Depending on how you are installing the game running the installer or galaxy with Admin privileges for the installation might fix the issue.

Rule nr one is to never install to ANY system folder like C:\program files, due to file/folder permissions and Windows have a nasty tendency to lock files and folders at will.

Also, do you use Avast or any other antiviral programs? Try deactivate them. These antiviral programs also have a nasty habit of denying you access or suddenly quarantine your folders/files.

EDIT: This is unfortunately Windows in a nutshell; treating you, the user, as a dead-beat zombie... :)

And lastly, this message can also mean file/folder/OS/HDD corruption. Try the above first.

Thanks to all (even the non-answer :) ). Looks like I have a few things to try, or, maybe just forget Galaxy and use the other method.

That too is a possible reason. Many here do, unfortunately, have various problems with Galaxy...
