Anybody find it strange how some people get universally down voted on the forum for seemingly no reason?

I mean, sure, you get your usual a$$hole comment from time to time but it's always the same people and most of the time they don't say anything controversial or aggressive. It's like someone has a vendetta on these few specific people.

If people are pissed off with what your saying, but are not clearly linked to a valid rebuttal of your key points; chances are your doing something right.

It's the cancerous reddit mentality unfortunately - what matters isn't why people agree or disagree with something - all that matters is FEELINGS, if you see some opinions that make you FEEL bad, just downrate it like crazy instead of actually articulating why you disagree and posting. We're living in the era of babies in the bodies of adults. Now watch this post get downvoted to prove my point.

I did find it strange at first, but I don't think it's random at all given the people affected the most are the ones that either constantly talk about politics the most, start political threads or have political avatars / subheadings under their names. When some people have "Proud to be an SJW" whilst others have "Anti-SJW" as personal sub-headings to deliberately "goad" each other, that's half of what's turning the forum in on itself.

Edit: Other examples in this topic alone include one person's sub-heading about Trump and 2020 Elections and one other with an "InfoWars" avatar. Down-voting is often just a lot of otherwise neutral people getting very tired of hearing politics shoehorned into every single thread / avatar on a gaming forum.

You are not allowed to have an opinion, follow in line and or get fucked by mob ! atleast this is what i have gathered from observing this and other forums, public spaces are trash nowadays.

There are usually three types of downvoting "routines":

1. The kind of deserved downvoting by being an utter idiot/rude/personal attacks/excessive swearing/borderline genocidal etc.

2. The kind of non-deserved downvoting because you say/write something people gets (easily) offended by.

3. The kind of brainless war-like downvoting just because someone doesn't like you, and use every opportunity they can to downvote every post they come across.

And then we can discuss all we want whether or not someone are using a (spam)bot or not, or perhaps aggravating others to join their cause just because of a rumour.... This is sadly the new "norm", no matter where you venture. As I wrote in an another thread; the more you stick your head out the more of an enticing target you become. XD

The day GOG finally get their head out of the sand and remove the current rep system is going to be a brand new era!

And you can forget GOG doing anything about it; they have totally blown off the forum. Literally abandoned it. I no longer get any replies when I ask support or Blues about something in here, and as a experiment, I've been making my avatar and title more and more obscene, and nothing. Stuff that has gotten myself and others banned in the past doesn't even get warnings anymore.

I think it would take 20% of the effort to address 80% of the downvotes.
Just take a look at the people who press the negative button 100 times per day. Clearly that person has social issues. Send them a polite note telling them their behaviour had been noted and request an effort to keep it more in check.
