It appears that the scrolling shooter Fantastic Night Dreams: Cotton is going to be released on PC, PS4 and Switch.

I'm not sure if this is a total remake or an enhanced port.

To my knowledge there is no current footage of new release version of Cotton but here is a vid of the Playstation version: ( Link )

I've always wanted to own a copy of this game, GOG if you are listening please make it happen!

Side note:
The developer is also planning on re-releasing the original X68000 version of the game on a physical floppy disk. The X68000 version would make great bonus content for a digital release of Cotton on GOG.
Wishlisted. Good luck to this coming here.
This looks familiar. Were there ports of it on the SNES?

Also, while the video is there, why don't you try enticing me, by telling me about the game and what makes it unique?

I believe the sequel got a SNES released in japan, but unfortunately I don't think the original did.

The original version was ported to these systems:
- Neo Geo Pocket Color
- PlayStation
- Sharp X68000
- TurboGrafx-CD
- PSP
- PS Vita
- PlayStation 3

If not on the SNES perhaps you saw it on either the TurboGrafx CD or Neo Geo Pocket Color as both of those systems got an english release of the game while the rest of the systems all only got a japanese release.

I haven't played the game myself (yet!) so I can't speak for all of the game's mechanics.

Its hard to describe exactly what is catches my eye about this one, but here are a few of the good points:
- Pleasant 2D pixel art.
- The weapon power-up system doesn't appear to completely flatline on death like some other scrolling shooters.
- What looks like good stage layouts & enemy patterns.
- Enemies appear to be a threat without being bullet sponges.
- Not a bullet hell shooter. (Although, I do like that genre as well.)
- Catchy soundtrack.
- Voice work seems decent in the X68000 version: LINK <-(Warning: Boss Spoiler.)
- "Tea Time!" on boss clear is charming.

All and all it just looks like an enjoyable game to play. ^_^

I have a fancy 'reproduction' of this game for my Turbo Duo. The US version costs more than few hundred dollars and even the Japanese version is very expensive. It's nice that these games are coming back out in some form.
