On a smaller scale both Warbanners and Battle Brothers add their own twist to the scene

but all in all i guess my favorite would be the complete working as it should product from CA, maybe when i have my 10th gen i9 installed and they released the 3d game in their warhammer trilogy and it works as how everyone feels it should work

I wholeheartedly recommend Total Annihilation: Kingdoms. It got some crap back in the day but only because the original Total Annihilation game was so perfect that TA:K had a lot to measure up to. It's a fantastic fantasy RTS with a pretty interesting story/setting, fantastic soundtrack (like the original game, its soundtrack was written by the legendary Jeremy Soule), flawless gameplay, extremely well-done graphics for its time and it's just a fun experience all around.
Warlords battlecry games are alright, too.

And, of course, Warcraft

I must say that battlecry 2 surprised me, started playing yesterday, i was only familiar with the 3d title and the difference between the maps presented in 2 and 3 is huge....

So far lost 2 times out of 4 games and had 2 very particular maps, for example a map filled with bases of other players or another one presenting a very fortified position you have to break in to
