truly classic. maybe one of the first RTS game I played (apart from Tiberian Sun)
If i sign up, is it possible to download them via FTP rather than relying on a client?
Awesome!
I can't recommend those games enough (that's assuming there's anyone here who's never actually played them) even if you have to use Origin to play them.

Thanks for letting us know :)

I'll take that as a 'no' to my previous question...
Wow, I'm building quite a respectable library also on Origin, even though I haven't bought any games from them.

Ok, there was the Origin Humble Bundle, but I recall they were mostly repeats I already had on Steam (so I basically just got an option to activate the games also on Origin), and none of that money went to EA I believe.

Hey, I'm not complaining about the client if they offer free games. Buying games there is another thing though. Maybe if a proper Mass Effect trilogy on a cheap price. Or wait for the GOG release. :)

I'm not entirely sure whether you can play offline or whatever, but as far as I'm aware it's client only... but it's actually not that bad, I would say I find it less annoying than Steam, and they do give you a load of free games...
Thanks for the news but will wait for a gog edition.
All such offers have that one serious catch.... You have to install some DRM platform. Which automatically means that you don't really get the game but some abstract license... So when Origin dies, all your Origin games become unplayable...
Not interested, even for free on DRMed platform.
If they bring'em here then I will buy.
Nice try. "Whats the catch" = having Origin installed on your computer = not free at all, merely a fishing expedition to get people signed up to their DRM platform and probably half a million advertising lists.

At least there is an offline-mode option in the Origin menu, but I have no experience how it works (*). I presume it is similar to Steam-client offline mode.

(*) Lack of experience is because I haven't really played Origin games that much so far. I think the only games I've played shortly with Origin are so far:

- Bejeweled 3
- Zuma's Revenge
- Crysis 3 multiplayer trial

Ehhh, my disc copy of RA2 is fine thanks. I'll wait till they come to GOG and pay for them, rather than install Origin on my computer.
No thanks.
There, now it's been handed out for free the game can be put on GOG for those who still want it :)
Bring them here - then I'll buy them.
