[This is a sticky post, it will be visible in every single page of this thread. It has been published in October 2020.]

Our moderation team decided not to take a side in the discussion since this giveaway thread was created by the community and, as long as there are no forum rules violated, is up to you, dear Gogers, to decide its fate. We will not set giveaway rules, edit the OP's post, nor lock the whole thread.

However, to make it easier for newcomers to understand the situation (about the OP being inactive and other), I will stick my own post right above the first one.

You are, of course, free to create new threads to start anew and make your own, clear rules. At the same time, please stay reasonable when crating them, as multiple new duplicates might make it even more confusing for many Gogers.

That being said, here you can find a post with dxenija's community poll to have better understanding of the situation: CLICK.

At the time of writing, open giveaway threads are:
- Massive Giveaways Blog
- Free (temporary) keys giveaway central topic. (this one)
- Updated Itch.io giveaways

TrevorWilliams: Anyone else getting the error message from Epic when trying to check out that you’ve gotten too many free games and try again later? Between Prime and their weekly it has been a lot lately.

thiagott: Yes. Epic has a cart size limit, and some sort of throttling. I had to split the order into smaller orders and try each one later...
It’s not that, it happens with just a single item in the cart. I missed yesterday’s freebie. It’s like they’re given me a 24 hour timer between free purchases or something.
What a coincidence. I just finished the game (on steam) earlier today.

Purrfect! After installation, Astrea: Six Sided Oracles is DRM-free.
The game can run without the client active. No extra workaround is needed!
Just launch the exe file directly without resource hogging DRMs!

Note: Epic Games Client might appear and ask you to login. You can keep playing after closing it.

Beautiful artistic graphics and DRM-free, what is there not to like? Meowtastic!

I rather liked it, rating it Very Good (6/7).

It depends on what you expect from it. If you expect it to be a game to play for hundreds of hours, you might be disappointed, as I don't think it is varied and well balanced enough for that (unlike Slay the Spire, on which I have more than 1000 hours). On the hand, if you are ok with playing it just until you have won a run with each of the six characters, then it's a very good 10-20 hour game, depending on your skill level and experience.

Compared to Slay the Spire, it is more complex (more actions, more mechanics, more terminology), but much easier (I won each character on their first run).

All in all, it is a reasonably good roguelike deckbuilder. There are several better ones, but many more worse ones.

The only games I played in the genre were the "Metal Gear Ac!d" ones on the PSP many years ago. But I guess the games you mentioned are very different though. I might try "Astrea" one of these days. Thank you for your feedback, mrkgnao.

Yes, very different. Not the same genre at all.

If you want to try the roguelike deckbuilder genre for the first time, Astrea should not be it. I would recommend Slay the Spire.
