Hi all,

I can see this topic has come up before, as far back as 2010. I bought it from gog.com last year and I would hope that this bug would be fixed or that GOG would stop selling it or at least provide some kind of way of support, but I cannot find one and I am frustrated.

In Day three, I do the cuckoo clock on the plant and go to Xavier and then while the podium is highlighted with the knife icon, I cannot click on it, nor even exit the room. Numerous attempts to reload do not work. I downloaded saved games from other forums here, but they do not seem to work (the virtual store directory does not work and in my Gabriel Knight 2 directory, no dice as well).

Is there any help out there so I do not have to start over?

"I was having the same problem as others, with the game freezing after placing the cuckoo clock. I was exiting the Back Hall into the Main Hall and watching the video with the cuckoo alarm going off and Xavier going back and forth. Then the freeze.

When I clicked on the video to stop it, the game did not freeze, but Xavier stayed at his post and I couldn't get the keys.

However, this worked: After placing the cuckoo clock, exit Back Hall to Main Hall and IMMEDIATELY exit left to Front Hall. Wait for the video - Xavier hears the clock knock and leaves - click on the desk, click on the desk drawer and click on the keys. Voila!"
