Hi folks,

I've noticed that many of the games that I have available under the Galaxy Client, keep being reported as "new", even after I have installed, played (even dozens of times), and possibly even uninstalled them again...

Now this is not a disabling error -- after all, I can still find and play all my games --, but I would like to see it fixed anyway. It's a bit odd, to have played a game hundreds of times, and still see that -- according to the Galaxy Client -- it's new.
Is this a bug? Or is it something I can fix myself?

Thank you in advance for any helpful response.

Ok, let me add something to the above: it seems like the Galaxy Client doesn't record ANY of my activity anymore. The last activity recorded, is from over three months ago, even though I play games EVERY day. Something is off, here.

What OS are you using? Windows 10? Windows 7?

What is your version of Galaxy? You are using 1.2.56?

In the Galaxy Settings under Features - Settings under In-game features - is Game time tracking and Overlay and Achievement tracking activated?

EDIT: NVM - only just understood that you not only fixed the "NEW" flag but also the game tracking stuff. Thought your second post was unrelated to the first

I'm on Win7, and using the latest version of Galaxy. And I suspect that both issues *are* related. Also, although I thought that it might have been fixed, I've just realized that it this is not entirely true.
All "features" were off, but I had checked "Achievements" and "Game Time Tracking" a couple of hours ago. I'm not so hot on the "Overlay" feature, though, so I left that unchecked. Having GOG (or any other system) put stuff on my screen while I'm playing just annoys me.

Game tracking seems to be OK now, but the "new" flag still exists on many of my games. Even on games that I played after "fixing it".

Hey, we'd like to investigate further into it :)

Could you kindly describe the issue here, and also attach your Galaxy logs files, which can be found:
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\logs

You can access the directory using the Run... window (WinKey+R key combination) and entering:
%programdata%\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs

Make sure to shut down Galaxy first.

Please add log files to archive before sending.

Hi Ashleee,

Thank you fvery much or your response.

I thought I was clear enough describing the issue: I have games in my library that continue to show the "new" flag, even after having been installed, and played multiple times. That flag shouldn't be there, if I'm not mistaken.
Also, up until some three months ago, whenever I installed a game, played it for the first time, made achievements, or had played them for 5, 10 or more hours, a note about the event would appear in my activity feed. Over the last three months, though, it has not recorded ANY such events, even though I've not played any less than before.

My logs folder (which, thanks to 40 years of computing experience, I can find quite well), contains some 60+ files, almost all of which contain the word "log" in their name. Could you please be more specific about which files you would like to see? Or do you want me to pack all of it up at once? And finally, since I'm already asking anyway, is there any particular archive format that you would prefer? IZarc offers 11 distinct archive types, among which the likes of Rar, Zip, and 7z, for example.

Patiently awaiting your next reply,
(EDIT: Oh, never you mind... it seems to have been fixed. Thank you for your kind offer of help)

The only way I know to cure this issue is to log into GOG through a website, open you game library and click each game [labeled as "new"] 1 time. Reload/refresh is not necessary.

As for the Galaxy not updating your game activity for 3 months, please check your settings and post a screenshot right here, where the option of game tracking can be clearly seen with a tick on it. I'm not sure how it's called now since I haven't used Galaxy lately.

Ah, THAT worked... all those "new" tags are finally gone... It's a bit of a mystery to me, why this can't be done from Galaxy Client, but I need to log into the website to get it fixed, but there it is. It is now cleaned up. Thank you for that one.

Either you didn't read what I wrote earlier about having turned the "Game Time Tracking" feature on, or you've chosen not to believe me. Or maybe I was confusing in the way I wrote about it... Whichever one of these it is, it saddens me a little. Although, hey I can't blame you. You have to prepare for every contingency; some people have no clue; they come here with a problem, you spend weeks trying in vain to help them get it right, and all this time, they ignore anything you say. They did it to themselves. So yeah, I understand.
However, when I opened Galaxy Client to look up that page, I happened to look at the activity feed, and it seems that -- after a delay -- turning "Game Time Tracking" on two days ago has actually fixed the issue. I understand that what activity was not recorded in the last three months, is lost forever, but at least it's now working again.

So, thank you for your assistance, all is well.
