It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

So, I've been wanting to submit a review for one of the games in my library. Every time I try to submit, however, I am greeted with an infinitely looping 3 dots, implying "Wait, it's loading," except nothing actually happens. Refresh page and the review isn't added.

I'm within character limit, I've tried with accepting all cookies, disabling ad blockers, switching Chromium-based browser (Brave) to Firefox browser, trying inside GOG Galaxy itself, and lastly restarting my PC. Nothing seems to change the outcome.

Is anybody else experiencing this? Is it on my end or GOG's?

It's very strange for reviews not to go through. It's not like this is my first time submitting one. According to my history, I've done 3 reviews before in the past, never had issues before.

If I can't get any help here, I'll probably open a support ticket.

QUAKETALLICA:
Perhaps (a wild guess on my part) it contains a banned word. GOG tries to minimize spam on forum by blocking posts with certain words. They may be pretty common terms at one point abused by spam bots. I don't think there's a public list of such words and I don't even know if it applies to game reviews...

Well, it's kinda hard to post a list of words, which keep a post from being posted. ;)

I'm sure one could come up with some ways to get around that ;)

Or if this forum had been made logically, they would have had administrative exception.

It was a glowing review. I assure you there was no cussing or derogatory comments anywhere. I gave it 5 stars and a whole lot of praise.

At any rate, even if that was the case, wouldn't it give some sort of error explaining the reason? Or just post it, but with the word censored like Steam does?

Nope. When that happens, you just get infinite loading here on GOG.

It could also be a blacklisted word within another word. Or it detects something by combining starts/ends of two words which results in something not allowed.

Grab a test thread like this one, and try posting your review there:
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/test_40

Start by the entire thing. If it does not process, split it up into parts until you narrow down the offending piece. You can edit the post afterwards and remove the review.

If it processes fine on the forums, then it's not a case of the blacklist.

So I just copy/pasted the review in here and it posted just fine, without a hitch. I edited to remove it and leave this message instead. It's not the auto-detect filter.

No idea then. How close are you to the character limit of the review? If you're at 0, try removing a few characters and see if it goes through. Can't think of anything else and asking support might be the only option.

Does your review contain special characters? GOG's unicode handling is...bad at best.

Oh for sure.
Easiest way, that I can think of, would be to create a spreadsheet with all the banned words, make a screenshot of that spreadsheet and then post that screenshot.
I have the same problem. I wrote a review for En Garde!, but it has not been saved. And refreshing the game page doesn't help and my review is not displayed.

That's why I'm not buying games on GOG anymore. Tons of bugs and no response from developers.
They are not interested in your experience. Just bring money and shut up.

Yup. For me, the final nail in this coffin was when this platform decided, after ~ 6 years, to TRY and treat someone 1/2 a world away like they were an EU residemt, as in VAT. NFW Kiss our business Sayonara!

Your review is there now. They sometimes just take some time to become visible.
