I couldn't find a preexisting thread dedicated specifically to this topic, so I decided to start my own.

Every so often, I'll dream about gaming. I'm sure this happens to you folks, too. Obviously, many of these dreams will have something to do with games I was playing at the time. Of course, there's usually a strong degree of randomness and ambiguity that makes it a surreal experience. Likewise, one dream sequence might shift into another until I can barely grasp what everything was about.

It might be fun (or at least somewhat interesting) to mention our gaming dreams here before they slip from our memories. For example, my latest dream involved me driving around my city and apparently scoring points by uncovering the "fog of war." While I'm assuming it was about driving, I don't remember being in a car. It was basically me gliding down roadways at night through an eerie first-person perspective.

What are your gaming-related dreams?
Dreaming in Tetris.

I've mentioned it before, and I know damn well some of you have experienced it as I have. :P
I recently had a dream where I was running through a forest. Someone or something was after me and I was running like hell trying to escape. Suddenly the forests ends and I stand on the edge of a sheer and very deep drop. But there is a rock spire with a few windswept trees just a few meters away. I somehow knew I had to get over there and hide...

So I went back about 20m and started running, jumped... and didn't make it. And fell...

Usually at this point you're supposed to wake up... But I didn't. Everything went black and a very plain "Game Over" appeared in front of my eyes. So I reloaded and made the jump again - and this time it worked. And there the dream ended.

Game dreaming for me has always been the product of too long in one reprieve mechanic. Pac Man when I was a kid, arpgs nowadays

There were some earlier threads about this, but they are so old that it is understandable and maybe even preferable to start new threads. I think I also started one such thread.

I already told it there, but I had a dream where I was working as an "errand boy" for a mafia guy who looked very familiar. He grew to like me and think I am dependable so I think I started getting more important jobs, maybe even including violence (I don't quite remember the dream anymore so clearly).

When I woke up, I realized:

- The mafia guy in my dream was this guy (Corey Harrison) from the TV-series Pawn Stars:

(the guy on the left with the red T-shirt). He made a convincing mob boss in my dream, good think he though me as his friend rather than an enemy.

- I had been playing lots of GTA3 back then, and the dream was somewhat like "living" in GTA3, doing errands for the mob.

I've had similar dreams, navigating a maze, or something similar, and when it got hopeless, my brain turned on cheats like no clip, or respawned at the beginning to try again. The dream didn't start as a game, but then I'm using video game tropes to solve the problems.
Or sometimes the exact opposite. I'll be playing a game in my dream and eventually all notion of playing a game is gone and I'm trying to survive these impossible gaming situations without the tools given to you in the game. Both types of those dreams can be fun or terrifying, sometimes both at the same time..
back in early 1997 i had this dream about doom 64 and how awesome it was. then i rented played the game a couple of weeks later and thought "this is not nearly as much fun as the pc doom games." ultimately i bought turok instead.
Oh I'm sure I've had in the past but I can't really remember details anymore. I vaguely recall a dream in which I could load saves and it seemed like the most normal thing. I think I was exploring a temple or something.
Well, there certainly must have been some gaming-related dreams in the past having such a long gaming career, but can't remember any right now. There were definitely times when I was trying to beat some level or boss and couldn't do it before I went to sleep, then dreamed about it and passed it without trouble the next day right after waking up.

The previous night, however, I had a very strange dream since it's GOG-forums-related. xD
I dreamed that I was very tired and before going to sleep that I created a giveaway for a game called Shadow of Darkness which is non-existant (even if it would be that hard-ass Ninja one, it's a PS1 title) and that people were upset about it and that I had trouble explaining that it was supposed to be Deadly Shadows aka Thief 3.
Don't know where that came from, I'm not spending that much time around here so that it should influence my dreams. xD
As strange as it sounds, I don't think I ever dreamed with a gaming-related background. Not for the latest years at least.
I have those a lot when i play a game for more than 3 hours in a day. Currently i am still playing earth 2140 dos version and i keep dreaming how i make units and beat the enemy. Was also watching earth 2150 videos and seen the ucs ufo video and kept having a dream of ufo being outside and it went away fast as soon as i saw it in the dream and a mini ufo that keept appearing outside the kitchen window.
The thing is i haven't played earth 2140 in a while due to some game called hybris pulse of ruin have to be beaten before steam stops supporting xp and other interests. Think i even had a dream of hybris game but currently don't remmeber about what it was.

And it's not just gaming related dreams i have sometimes i have some anime dreams lol

Here's one that I had at a child.

I was playing Faxanadu (NES), and all of the sudden, it appeared that the time limit was quickly approaching. The music changed to the sad song at this point, as a sign that time was running out. This, of course, scared me a bit as I don't like global time limits in games (at least those that can't be reset somehow).

(It's worth noting: Faxanadu does not *actually* have a time limit. It does have an item that lets you fly for a limited time, but you don't need it active all the time and you can just buy more of the item if you need it.)
I dream in RPG terms, that there is an ultimate goal, and a heroic quest to do in life. I then wake to the ultimate pointless repetitive existence.

I often dream about putting my long straight thingy in that tight little space...

Do you have a large library? (For youngsters, that is something which holds books, which are physicals pages with written words on it, I know, incredible eh?)
