I feel this needs to be said because there's always someone in the community wishlist that trashes Gog for not adding X game already, and that they're wasting good potential money by not doing so.

So just to make it clear. The reason that popular games like Age of Empires, Warcraft, or Fable aren't on Gog isn't because Gog doesn't want them, but because large corporations like Microsoft Studios, EA, and Blizzard are holding the rights to those games and aren't willing to go DRM free.

Alright? Stop hating on Gog for something that's out of there control.

Perhaps GOG should have an official wish list feature for games not available in GOG that is similar to the one in the GOG store. The point would be to gather data to show publishers a pool of potential customers for particular game titles and use that to persuade them to release those titles through GOG. It may not be effective with some publishers but there may be some others who could be persuaded to release certain games without DRM. A publisher that sees that they can sell over a thousand additional copies of a game may find it tempting, especially for older titles. I think an official wish list managed by GOG would be more convincing to these publishers than community managed threads.

I would buy the hell out of Warcraft II and Diablo II if they got re-released on GOG. Not so much if they got re-released on the battle.net-client.

GOG should force Activision Blizzard not to value their trademarks and money.

Seriously though, how I hate the battle.net client. I need to run a seperate client for getting access to what, six other games? Worst client/store on PC.

Really, I hadn't noticed a whole lot of posts about not releasing xyz game? It's well know that the likes of m$, Ubisoft, blizzard etc. Will not release anything drm free.
What does however get questioned a lot is GOGs "curation" which is very wonky. Shody crap like Simon the sorcerer gets through when other games which are far better get rejected. This is a perfectly good subject to be angry with gog about as it is totally within their control.

Sorry I was perhaps unclear and edited my post. What I meant was the community wishlist is not really managed by GOG nor do they collect individual user data which could be used to prove to publishers how many of those votes are actually from likely customers based on purchase histories. It is currently just a subforum with upvotes displayed for threads. GOG does respond to notices of duplicate threads to merge or delete but that is about it. What I would like to see is a wishlist interface similar to that used by users for the GOG store, as that would provide more useful and convincing data as well as perhaps being more comprehensive and easy to manage for users.

Another potential benefit of doing it this way could be automatically moving items from the non-GOG wish list over to the GOG store wish list when they are added to the store. A message could also be sent to such users as they items are moved over to the store wish list so they are informed of the opportunity to purchase the game through GOG.

I hate Uplay. I bought Might and Magic X on Steam and opened an account to play it. After two weeks of trying and failing to get the game to link with my Uplay account I gave up.
