== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

========================================================================================

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

duckdotexe: Making a post here since there's no other way for friends to add me. You guys should really make a method of adding friends right now that isn't half-assed (I know it's in Beta).
We're working on that right now :)
Geez Guys!

Where is the download button if I'm using Linux?

I'm aware there is no Linux Client, but that is NO reason to hide the button.
At least let me download the Windows-Version. I'm using Linux. I know how to use it.

Edit: Oh I see! It's game to test my reflexes. Got it!

Thank you very much for your feedback. We'll look into this issue for sure, it's been forwarded to appropriate teams for investigation.

BKGaming: Can you please do me a favor and explain to me why Kerbal Space Program updates are not managed by Galaxy? I realize the launcher has a built in updater (are we suppose to use this?) but it sucks really really bad, and most of the time it fails to realize an update is available. Not to mention you need a separate KSB store account to use it.

Otherwise we have to use the standalone installer, which I didn't even get a flag for that 1.0.4 is available. Please make Galaxy handle the patching for all games, as this is annoying.

EDIT: What is worse is I re-installed the game via Galaxy, and it had the latest update. So this tells me Galaxy has the latest version on your servers. This doesn't make sense then as to why Galaxy can't manage the updates. :(
avatar
Fallen_Zen: We'll definitely look at it. Could you create a ticket on Mantis with your logs if that's possible?
Is it not suppose to be this way? I always assumed the ":Updates not managed by Galaxy" was intended behavior since that was like the only game I've see with that message? Can report it on Mantis though.

Elmarinho: Hello!
I just tried the GOG Galaxy client. I like the idea and I think the creation of backup-setups is the most important feature.
But: I hate it creating it's directory direclty on my C:\ root!

3rd party software never ever belonged there. Thats just bad behaviour.
avatar
Fallen_Zen: The default path will change thanks to user feedback in the next update. It will install games to the client's directory.
That's interesting... how will that effect existing installations?

Wasn't sure about Kerbal Space Program but you're right. If it states that it isn't managed by GOG Galaxy then yes, we won't update it (the game has built in update mechanism). But we can upload newest build to the content system for new installs.

As for the default install path it won't change if you've already set it to something else. It's for fresh installs.

And that is what I take issue with then. KSP's update mechanism isn't really built in. You got to launch the launcher under MORE and then make a KSP account to update. It does not update the game by just launching the game like most built in updaters. Steam handles the updates for this game from what I have read, so there is no real reason Galaxy can't either.

Not to mention the launcher fails to work right (it could not tell a new update was available) and it is annoying.

EDIT: I guarantee you there are a lot of people with no idea how they are suppose to update this game. It's confusing. I completely understand doing this when the game has an updater that updates the game when it is launched. But this is outside of the game and needs a third party account.

I'll pass this suggestion to appropriate people. Thanks :)

Thank you, as I said in another edit above right before you posted, I completely understand doing this when the game has an updater that updates the game itself when it is launched. But this is outside of the game (via a launcher that most won't know about or even use) and needs a third party account to even update. I've already seen some people post in the KSB forum confused by this.

I appreciate it very much. :)

Speaking of which... any news on the Linux client?
I don't like the fact that GOG Galaxy installs some kind of certificate to my C: drive every time I download a game. My system was running slow, virus definitions wouldn't download, and none of my GOG games would download or update. I found that I had 150 GB of "certificates" that had filled up the remainder of my C: drive, which is really just supposed to be my boot drive as I use other drives for storage. A: I don't understand why a certificate is necessary since the standalone installers don't use them and B: if they're necessary, then give us the option to choose where they should be installed to.

Until this is fixed, I'll download the standalone installers.

I don't quite understand what do you mean by certificate? What's the name of the file and where it is located? Could you post a screenshot?
Search function doesn't work and I've not been keeping up with this. So forgive me if this is already mentioned.

The Bard's Tale shows up as not yet available? And if I click on it Next to the more button it says not compatible. Known bug or...?

It wasn't just *A* file, but thousands of files in the C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage folder. Most were about 2 MBs in size. I found that these are the files that let Galaxy know that a game is installed and to keep it in your installed games list. Unfortunately, I had to delete these files, so none of my GOG games that I installed show up in Galaxy anymore. Minor problem. The big issue is thousands of files taking up 150 GB of space on my 300 GB boot drive when I have 2 x 2TB drives that I could've routed that to if given the option to do so. I'll try to provide a screenshot from home this evening as I am not currently at that PC.
